I didnt think there was a huge demand for specific subforum dedicated to this subject, but what do I know? What exactly is going to be talked about in here?

who is" king of the hill"

I have been looking at this site for a while now , have noticed alot of guys
who post almost everyday , some of the information is good and some is not
so good ,I wonder who is at the top of the rankings ,we could use the USTA
site to verify the "top gun " position from their tournment rankings ,how many
5.0 or satellite players do we have ,better yet lets get TW to set up some
sort of vacation/tennis camp program where we can all meet ,have clinics,
a big tourney etc ,demo products ??

well you can have it around the world. heres how it could run, for example:

choose a date, probably a saturday and a sunday, and a time, 1 PM.

For all the diferent places, the people get together in the pre-arranged place of their region, all at the same date and time.

So we can have as many places as there are people to attend.

You would need one coordinator for each region to set up the courts, place, etc, and then just have sign up sheets here for ppl to sign up and pay (non-profit, just for the expenses of court, etc).

So someone would coordinate chicago, someone else ny, miami, etc, so long as their are people sigining in to go and willing to pay the fees.

    OR

one big event hosted by TW and people would have to fly in and stuff. that would be more complicated.

Personally I am getting tired of all the sandbagging threads as well. I am not sure though what else is talked about in adult tournaments which always seem to be centered around people sandbagging and various forms of cheating, and displeasure with the USTA.

There was a whole recent thread dedicated to the best players posting on TW. I am not sure that every single player 5.0 and above wants their personal info spread about. If you get any more than a couple people other than the ones who have already posted their identities I would be surprised. But if you want to be the trend setter, why don't you post yours first.

The best players are not necessarily the most knowledgable by any stretch of the imagination. Their are teaching pros posting who are well past their primes but know the most on instruction/technique. Their professional stringers who post who probably don't even play tournaments of any kind. Their are racquet junkies who know more about racquets than the college and pros that post here. I am not even sure what high level players would be able to relate better than some of the specialists on the forum other than what it is like to play college tennis or futures events.

    It's using a player that's at a higher level on a team that's a lower level. For example, using a 4.5 or a weak 5.0 on a 4.0 team.

Personally, I think this new forum is a great idea.

USTA league and tournament play doesn't really fit into either of the subforums that the discussions currently exist in (Tennis Tips & Instruction / Rants & Raves).

I also think seperating the junior and adult discussions is a good idea. Most adults play in NTRP divisions, and those threads often deviate into a bunch of juniors with no real NTRP play trying to establish / justify a self-rating.

There were a few threads about the Nationals that people put them in the Tennis Travel section. Seems more approproate here. And yes people do sandbag in USTA LOL

Well, does anyone in the forum live in Kentucky or Indiana maybe?. We could form a little league and get together to play in the weekends or something.

Yeah, I still want to know who the best player on TW is. That one thread in Odds and Ends died down without a good answer.

I was curious about that too, but it seems like the strongest players here tend to be shy about their accomplishments. My conclusion based on what I have read on this forum so far is that the strongest ones are SydneyJim (playing some futures this year) and serveitup911 (previously ranked top 40 junior in the U.S. and currently playing D1). I am not sure how to compare those two, they should play against each other some time.
