Okey dokey...... Tmrw is my first tourney, and better yet, my first official match Ive ever played..... My goal is to basically get one game off my opponent and just get the ball in play..... Reasonable enough? Any other advice I should keep in mind (Stuff to bring.... Etiquette.... Etc)?..... Thanks!

Are you a junior? You should aim to do something better than get one game off. Just relax and have fun.

good luck. remember to (like oneguy said) relax and have fun. treat it like a practice match but with more focus.

come on dude this is sad...tennis is a mental game and if u fight ur points you'll win. the difference between a top 10 player and a top 400 player is their mind set. when a top 400 player is playing roger federer for example. they would think "Oh god, he's soo good. And if i can just get a set on him i would be happy"
so just give it 200% and all you got. and if u know you tried your best and still lost, its because your opponent is better than you, but thats life :D

^^ if i ever get a set off of federer i would consider going pro =)

as for the tourney thing. I remember my first tourney last year and i got killed like 6-2 6-3. i took it as a learning experience and am working my butt off so i can improve for the tourney again this summer. (i'm pretty much a recreational player).

one game works for me. But a 30 stroke rally on each point.

It's fun isn't it? I hope it was a big draw. Nothing beats the feeling of a big tournament atmosphere. Good luck tommorow.

way to keep a positive attitude, sourstraws. Several years ago, I played my first tourney and got crushed 6-3, 6-3. However, I stuck with it for the next few years and have had positive results.
