Fischer Pro 1 vs Ncode 95 vs Fischer Pro FT

Hey guys, first post here and I was wondering whether you all could help me out. I am looking for a new racquet coming off babolat pure drives which were way too powerful...otherwise they were pretty nice. I have already demoed the ncode 95 18x20 (tried both string arrangements) and really liked it and I was wondering whether you could compare it to both the Fischer Pro Number 1 and the Fischer Pro Number 1 FT...I threw the FT in there, just for the hell of it because i have the demo, but I havent hit with it yet. Btw, i am an advanced high school player with an extreme western forehand grip and a two handed backhand...
Other racquets I have tried and really liked were the Yonex RDX series both mid and mid plus were really nice.
Shane Reynolds, if you are reading this could you please give your experiences since i think you switched from the FT to the Ncode. Thanks.

Hi, Chi, and welcome to the boards. I liked the NCode very much but I did not switch to it. I was seduced by the dark side and switched to the PD+ because I just couldn't believe how much more pace I was getting on my serve and how much more reliable my serve was with the Babolat. I have struggled, however, on groundstrokes to some extent (7 out of 10 are fine but those other 3 get launched or go nowhere) and volleys have been awful at times. I was using the Pro Impact FT before the PD+ and I may go back to it next season; it is not as stable as the PD+ but when you hit the sweetspot, it is a much more reliable weapon on everything but serves. I will probably try stringing the PD+ at higher tensions before I consider a change, though.

Getting back to your topic, I would have to say a comparison between the Pro No. 1 FT and the NCode 95 depends on what you value. The Fischer has a smaller sweetspot and is not as stable, IMO, as the Wilson, but it is more maneuverable and I think it has really good feel, maybe better than the Wilson in that category. The FT seems to dampen the racquet well but you can still feel what is going on; the NCoding dampens the feel down to muted. The 16x18 Wilson will give monster spin but you might get better results out of the Fischer since it is fairly open as well but may get longer string life with your extreme Western FH. If you play a lot of heavy hitters, you will appreciate the healthy SW and extra heft of the Wilson as it is much heavier.

Now, if those two racquets float your boat, I would think the regular Pro No. 1 would really scratch where you're itching. It's just a bit lighter than the Wilson, good feel, good stability, fairly open string pattern, and it moves through the air a little easier (lighter SW). It is the best racquet I've found so far considering all strokes - it is equally at home with baseliners and serve/volleyers.

Have to agree on the Pro 1... I played with a PD for 3 years and went to the Pro 1 and NEVER looked back. The pro 1 does everything for me........I ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE it is my "holy grail"... however this is just me, and you may be different.
