    I'm with you on your post but there "could be" other advantages also - don't know. Look, I probably don't know the rules much better than a lot of you guys. As tennis professionals, we're required/expected to know these things but I don't spend many nights studying the implications of what this word or that word could mean or if every player in the world is conforming to the rules. I suspect, as a teacher, you've got better things to be concerned with also.

    I just don't like to see players misguided into using techniques that are not very sound or sent off thinking something (like a rule) is ok when its really (at best) on the fringe of what most of us believe. People/players are reading these threads in hopes of improving their game and IMO, they are not looking for some great debate trick which actually misleads the majority who read it.

    I'm certainly not suggesting you're doing this because I like your contributions.
