Forehand slice/slice dropshot

    probably most of you have seen this shot before.

    Tomic is a current player. For all the perceived 'subtitles' in tennis pre-graphite era, there never seemed to an era where the majority of players who used this shot as their default shot (not counting women here).

    the strangest thing about that shot is that he didn't seem to change his grip much. you see a lot of the other guys hold their forehands as if they are gonna rip it, then at the last moment switch to a continental and slide the racket head under the ball for a dropper. but in this case, he winds up like he's gonna brush up over it then suddenly drop it - using much the same grip, at least it seems.

    Jimmy Connors hit the forehand slice with his semi western forehand grip too.

    Evonne Goolagong used to hit that one and it looked just like that, oddly different from the conventional dropper!

    They musta changed the foot fault rule since then. :) Pretty blatant on Big Bill's part. . .
