For the same gauge of Forten Sweet and generic Gosen, which is more durable as a cross in a hybrid with a poly main? Is there a significant difference?

Also, does 16 gauge last significantly longer than 17 gauge, or is it just a matter of an hour or two of play time?

I'll agree, they wear differently. The forten sweet just eventually thins out and snaps, whereas the micro's outer shell/wraps slowly fall apart (sort of like prince syn w/ DF, but not as bad)

Between the 17g and 16g sweets i'd say the difference might last you an extra day or two between gauges, depending how harsh you are on your strings normally.
