    Federer in 3.

Though I can see Del Potro winning because he is playing like it is RG09!

    Delpo in 4? hahahaha.

Federer variety will smash Del Potro. Federer ain't Thomas "I can't make an injuried player run around the court" Berdych.

I'd say Federer in 3, but everyone knows that Fed will meltdown in the middle of one set but then will "magically" come back.

Fed in 4. Seems to be a good match up for Roger, but then again he has looked sloppy at times over the last week.

Fed in 4. Almost always gets past Del Potro (US Open apart). Slightly pointless either of them turning up with Nadal in the form he is in.

Delpo is probably the best player Fed needs to get his rhythm right, I'm glad it isn't another nobody coming up. Fed's been playing unseeded players whom he's never played before, even in the interview Fed said that due to the conditions in Madrid, Rome, etc, and the fact that he doesn't know how the new guys play, he was unable to get rhythm. If Fed gets past this one he should be ready for Djoker/Tsonga. (I'm saying Tsonga is a possibility due to the crap Djoko displayed against Seppi)

I'm saying Fed in 3, maybe 4 if Fed starts sluggish. But when Fed gets a set he would get momentum and finish it off.

Said a guy who uses a Del Potro pick as his avatar.:)

This one's hard to pick. Both aren't playing to their capabilities

Del Potro can win assuming he is playing well and Fed displays the same chite as previous rounds.

On paper Fed is the favourite because he owns Del Potro, but that was true for USO 2009 as well. You never know

I honestly doubt that Delpo will cause any Harm to Roger's game. He may take one (only one) set, but nothing more than that.

This was one of matchups that I was looking forward to!

This is a main event match, and for me the hottest match of the quarters. Love Roger, but if the big man can strike, and I will be very happy for him. He's due another big run in a slam, and I can't help but remember the war these two had in 09.

    Hoping for a classic! :)

Fed in 4. Berdych would have been a tougher match.

Fed in 4. Despite his two losses to Del Potro in 2009 Federer is a terrible matchup for the Argentine. Del Potro might win the first or second but I see Federer having 2 or 3 tough sets and then dish out a bit of a mauling in the 4th.

Don;t think this will be as easy as many think. Delpo could very well pull this out. Fed has not been in great form.

A good point to remember: Del Potro was up 6-0 in the second breaker against Federer in Dubai.

I'm going w/you on this ... yes, I know roger's side-to-side tactic against Delpo has been effective this year ... but rog hasnt been playing his best this week, and juan's been hitting bullets, so he's got a chance ... after all, if Gofin could take a set and a half from the swiss man, then certainly the argentine can take three!!!

ROFL! at those saying Delpo in 4. Unless Delpo finds his 2009 USO form plus a bit more, Federer will make quick work of him in 3 or 4 sets.

Delpo is not moving well because of his knee to make matters worse for him.

    Roger Federer in four.

I would be happy to be proved wrong and he wins in three sets so that he doesn't have to spend much energy and can be fresh for his matches with Novak and Rafa.

Federer still has to start this tournament. Let's hope he warms up today.

REALLY hope Federer in 3, but fear Delpo in 4 or 5. Would also not like Fed in 5. I want Roger to be fresh for the final weekend.

Imagine Roger Federer (16) beating del Potro (1) Novak(5) Nadal (10) and winning his 17th in Rolland Garros, that would be awesome

It was 5-0 double minibreak. Then 6-2 with 4 set points. But Delpo did a Roddick Wimbly 09' and lost 6 points in a row.

Close to zero, yes. But not zero. He came pretty close last year. I agree chances are even slimmer now, but it's Roger Federer.

DelPo hasn't taken a set off of Feds since that 2nd half of 2009 when he was playing like a future GOAT.

However Fed is dumping sets to also-rans, so while i would be surprised if DelPo could win with that wrapped knee, I wouldn't be surprised if this goes 5 sets.

Why can't Delpo win? He beat Berdych pretty handily. Knee can't be that bad?

I think Berdych was tired, he's had a very heavy clay court season, he even played the week before RG when most folks took the week off.

I think Delpo is the only shot to take down Nadal due to matchups/style. As such, I have ripped up my Fed fanboy card for today.
