What an escape from Fed. I think he did get lucky but he also further pushed that luck to himself by keeping at it and not getting more down. And he did play better as the match went on, more importantly served better.

When did Delpo get injured? Did that turn the match?

I think del Potro and Roger Federer have a good rapport.

Anyway, happy to see Roger win.

Allez Roger Federer now just two more to go for the completion of Project XVII

What happened in the 3rd set. Did Delpo's knee act up then, or later ?

Was Fed playing better, serving better in the last 3 sets or was his level the same, with Juan's level dropping.

I saw a bit of the last 2 games of the final set on telly, and Juan really seemed to be cracking the ball.

There's a 2 day rest so just as well. Since Nadal will breeze through his match today :D

However, the Joker-Fed semi could be the tougher of hte 2 semis. So Nadal has a slight edge in the final.

I think Fed is far more calculating, he knew DelPo was going to come out all guns blazing but he also knew the fitness was not there, so if Fed could stay in it and tire him out than the match was his for the taking, Fed was seriously pissed off during the tie break and after the 2nd set, he did not want to lose that set obviously (not seen Fed like that for a while) but was still confident his game plan would work I think DelPo winning the second set was quite lucky

anyone got an image of pissed off Fed after the person from the crowd called 'out'?!

Right a brief recap of what happened:

First set: ********. Most probably because Fed still hasn't got rhythm from playing 4 unseeded players in the draw. Delpo carrying on the momentum from beating Berdych. It was 1-1, Delpo broke to make it 3-1, then Double break to 4-1. But Fed fought back a break to 4-3, nearly broke again (he had 2 BPs or something), but Delpo held for 5-3. Fed just tanked the last service game 6-3.

Second set: Delpo God mode, Fed playing slightly better with a dip in the middle. Fed broke at 2-2, but then gifted it right back 3-3. Fed had like 3 BPs at 4-4, wasted and it went to the TB. The TB was pretty much Delpo at 100% and Fed on 80%, then comes the famous SHUT UP. Fed lost the TB 7-4.

Third set: Fed started really aggressive, probably because that was his only chance. Delpo started to relax a bit so Fed got a 3-0 lead. Then it was normal service until 5-2 when Fed broke again. 6-2

Fourth set: Delpo not moving at all and Fed is back on 100%. (As in knowing how to run around the BH, going into the net like he did earlier in spring) Not much to say, 13 winners, 0 UEs. 6-0

Fifth set: ******** threatened to come back out at the first game, there were 2 BPs for Delpo, but saved from Fed. Delpo showed signs of fighting, but was still half restricted by the knee. Fed broke and it was a 4-1 lead. Nice attempt by Delpo to fight for the rest of it, but Fed held and it ended 6-3.
