Does anyone know a decent way to get tickets to the French open this coming year? I'm not sure I can afford $700/day. I know FFT members have priority and can get tickets for ~$100/day. Are there any FFT members going or willing to buy? If anyone has ideas, please let me know. Thanks!

The best way if you don't get want you want on the general public sale is to sign up to the Viagogo site - it's thru the RG and FFT site. It's the official reseller for RG and he only way to.

What I did last year was sign up/create an account on the site then I stayed up until the site was open for purchase, it will explain too what tickets are good for which courts( usually the big courts are different show courts). You will also need to enter the names of the respective ticket holders for each ticket( which you can change later if need be).

This is also my first time buying tickets and going to the French Open. I've already created a username and password. I plan on buying on February 13th as soon as it's open to the general public. The most expensive ticket that i saw on the ftt website was 150 Euros. I think The prices are jacked if you buy elsewhere because people scalpe them.

Since this is my first time, is there anything i should know in advance that will make purchasing tickets easier?

The guidelines should be available on the website, I only bought tickets for the first day, not multiple days. I think you can only buy 4 per session. I don't know how scalping is done since they will check your ticket AND your ID card prior to entry. Me and my friends already had plane tickets before and it was my assignment to get the FO tickets so I waited the minute it opened to the general public and stayed up for it.

Hope you get to see, it's a wonderful experience. I wish I could have stayed at least 3 days straight. Oh and check the weather, it can get so hot at times and rainy, damp and cold depending on the day.

You cannot scalp tickets because the FFT makes you assign them to a persons name and they check them at the gates. That's why you use the RG/FFT site to buy and resell tickets. All the tickets on Viagogo are official and resold at face value - grounds passes are not 150€ that's reserved seating in the larger arenas on the final day - daily ground pass for the first week is closer to 24€

Prices for tickets start at 24€ then 38€ 50€ 76€ 54€ 72€ 90€ all the way to € 118€ during the fist week depending on which stadium and which category 1, 2, 3....etc you buy........you can google the 2013 ticket prices and look at the current FFT/RG site as they list all the possible pricing options.

Thats the link to the ticket prices. No point in going cheap on the tickets, im already spending a bunch on air fare just to get there so might as well get the best tickets (Court Phillip + Outside Category 1)

Do not buy tickets anywhere else but www.fft-tickets.com. There seems to be a bunch of people who take advantage of our ignorance. One of the Black Market sites has the price per ticket over $800. Thats crazy.

Just reviving this thread a day before tickets go on sale....

Do you have to be a member of French Tennis Federation to buy the tickets? I'm planning to go Tue and Wed of the first week (the second round). Is it easier to get those tickets than weekend tickets?

FFT members already had their sale.........what's available tonight is whatever has not sold so far to FFT members.

It will be VERY tough to get Cat1 seats in any of the main 3 stadiums - most all those seats are taken by FFT Pre-Sale or blocked for the mult-day package deals - getting General Admission also not an issue on the first day of the sale.

Depending on how many tickets you need will also be a factor - 1 category 1 seat in Lenglen or Centre Court possible - getting 3 or 4 together very tough. Best be prepared to settle on GA or Cat 3.

If you do not get what you want wait a bit and use the FFT VIAGOGO system in a few weeks - almost always able to get decent seats.

    Thanks for a quick reply!
What is Category 1 seating? Is that the cheapest seats?
What does General Admission gets you - ground passes to the smaller courts?
And the most important question: Do you know what time does the ticket sale start? Midnight French time - or later ?

They go on sale tomorrow morning PARIS time.........you will have to log in after 12 midnight in the US.

The 3 show courts - Chatrier, Lenglen and No.1 (the bullring) have seats designated Cat 1, 2, 3 based on how good and close the seats are (except for No.1 court that becomes General Admission after the first weekend). Of course Cat 1 are the best and taken within minutes during the FFT sale. court 1 really has no BAD seats due to the size - Lenglen is newer and has excellent sight lines even for some Cat 3 areas..........

After the 1st Monday or Tuesday the Court No.1 is no longer a "show" court and the doubles and legends events take place there........so when that happens NO.1 becomes open to General Admission and is first come........General Admission gets you all the courts EXCEPT Chatrier and Lenglen........during the first week it's a great deal as you have tons of matches on outside courts.

We are all FFT members in my family and we max out and buy as many seats as we can for friends on seats we can't use......others we re-post on VIAGOGO. Just about every FFT member buys the max amount of seats and does same.

Got 1 ticket for men's semi finals day! Pleased with that. Hope I can get a decent priced hotel now, but Paris is a short trip on the Eurostar for me.

I logged on at 6am GMT when they went on sale and had to wait about 40 minutes. Managed to get a pair of the 'finals pack' tickets which I'm delighted about.

I got tickets for 5/27 Chartrier and 5/28 Suzanne Lenglen. I never got an email confirmation or anything. Just the screen that said that tickets would be made available in April. Did anyone else see this?

I received an email confirmation right after purchasing mine. I am going on the first day. It will be my first major tennis tournament and first time in Paris!!

Does anyone know what happens next, as far as assigning names to the tickets, i.e. when and how that happens?

That's interesting. I didn't get one. What did yours say? Did it show the tickets and dates you purchased? I'm just worried if the purchase actually went through for me. I tried going on the site again to purchase more tickets and it indicated that I wasn't able to purchase any more than I already had. I guess that means the transaction went through. I'm just uber paranoid about missing out. It'll be my first time in Paris and the French is the last of the slams I need to check off my list.

    French open tickets

I managed to get tickets for a trip with for my brother's 40th. We're hitting both days of the second round- 5/29 on Lenglen and 5/30 on Chatrier. I'm beyond excited-it'll be my 1st major and my brother's third . I did get an e-mail confirmation about 5-10 min after the purchase. If you weren't able to purchase more tickets, that's a good sign that it knows that you did make the purchase. I haven't seen anything show up on my CC yet but figure that will be a few days for processing.

Paris is incredible. We were there a year ago. My wife, who is fully blooded Italian and usually an Italy snob, loved it so much she wanted to go right back.

Same as the post above. And I agree with the other poster - if you weren't allowed to purchase tickets again, then your original order likely went through. You can always check with your credit card company to see if the charge went through.

Just relax..........that's normal process.......once your payment goes thru you will get a confirmation email. Then later on you will have to log in and assign names and ctc info for each ticket. You can't print the tickets until just a few weeks before the event.

For me it will be the 38th time I've gone........

    Follow up on your order

I was actually on the website this evening. Now that most of the stadium tickets are sold, you can get right on. If you click on your info, it should show your orders now.

I dont know if I should consider myself as lucky or unlucky.
I have bought the tickets for the women's and men final and was so happy about it.
but I might have a work trip during that period. When I bought the tickets, I thought that it woulf be easy to resell them if I cant go. But, apparently, this wouldn't be that easy as the tickets will be assigned to my name :(

Their site said you can assign names to the tickets up to pretty close to the day of your matches, something like up to week beforehand, maybe even closer. So, if you sell them before that time, you can just put your buyer's name(s) on the tickets, when you download them. But check their site to see how late you can wait to do this.

All you need to do if you cannot use them is use the VIAGOGO site........the link is on the FFT site and even thru the RG website.....

You will post the tkts - the tkts then get relisted - trust me if you have finals seats they will sell fast!!!!!

What will happen is after they sell you will get confirmation from VIAGOGO and about 2 WEEKS AFTER the event your credit card will be credited. VIAGOGO also resells all at FACE value so do not expect any profit.

We have used VIAGOGO to resell batches of seats the last few yrs and its great....even had to buy xtra seats last yr for friends who came over for RG at the last min.

YEP, all tickets were sold out on February, the 13th.
I was able to book my tickets 20 mins after the site has opened and I barely was able to get my final's tickets. I guess everything was gone after two hours the site opened.

    Tickets sell out within hours.......

VIAGOGO will open after tickets issued to the buyers in a few weeks.

If you read the FFT site it's all there as well.

So many empty seats all the way up through RG last year - sad to see when you are at home watching on TV.

Hey all, I just wanted to ask whether it would be safe to purchase tickets from third party sites, such as onlineticketexpress and seatwave?

Oh and also, for anyone who has been on chatrier, are the cat 2 seats good? I heard that from cat 3 you can barely see anything and cat 1 is too expensive :p

    Thanks all

From my experience, I know that seatwave is safe.
It is legit n I m using it to sell two tickets for the womens final.(not interested in womens tennis).
No idea about ticketexpress but i heard it is not a site you can trust.

Guys, I need help. I bought my E-ticket online today but the name of the ticket holder (not me) is displayed on the ticket. Now, I know Roland Garros requires you to show matching I.D of the name, but i was told that there is also a name imprinted onto the barcode??

I'm really confused, could somebody who ahs been to RG before explain the process to me, thanks:(

    1. Where did you get your ticket? IF you got it off the VIAGOGO site (official FFT site) then you have access to update the names on the tickets.

    2. If you didn't use VIAGOGO then you have just bought someone's tickets - and unless that person has given you his/her access then you cannot change the names - only the "official" ticket holder can do this.

That's exactly why the FFT keeps control and makes u use VIAGOGO - ANY ticket bought outside of that resale site is considered scalped - that's why you are told not to use any other than the FFT site and Viagogo.

Unless you can find the original ticket holder and have them change the name and resend you are SOL.

If you bought your tickets from the approved FFT site - the process is you receive an email telling you tkts are available to assign.

You then create an account (PW and Usernme) pull up the tkts and assign esch tkt to someone.

Once that's done you can then print the tkts. You can change names on the tkts you "own" up to the day before.

Now IF you got the tkts off a resale site that is NOT Viagogo you in effect do not own the tkts, have access to change the names and broke the FFT rules. Where did u get your tkts?
