I bought them off an unofficial site. So now that I have this e-ticket with someone else's name, what do I do??

Honestly with out access to the original owners account......password and username you can't change the name on the tickets. As. Since you bought them off an unapproved site the FFT will do nothing - unless you can get fake IDs made in that persons name you can't use them. Trust me the tickets will be checked at the gates upon entry - this is a big deal to the FFT.

I hate to be an I told you so but in numerous threads and in my original replies to you it was made clear to only use the official FFT site and the official VIAGOGO site to purchase tickets......the FFT has made it a HUGE priority for a few years now to control scalping and the reselling of tickets on auction sites.

    This is such bad information!!!!!!

You CANNOT resell your tickets on any online site other than VIAGOGO via the FFT!

Some poor fool will but your seats and be unable to input their name on the tickets. This is like 4 yrs now the process has been in place.

If you have extra tickets - go to the VIAGOGO site and relist them..........I do it every year with my extra tickets and have had NO issues ever!

I simply can't believe that there is no hope for me though :( I bought the tickets off seatwave, received an e-ticket but under someone else's name. I mean, there are so many sites selling FO tickets, surely there is a way to make it work if so many appear to be resold online via unofficial sites. Any help?

Look at the below link........by buying from them you have in effect bought Black Market tickets......the FFT will do NOTHING to help you......it's the policy now and they take it serious. sorry

    http://rolandgarros.fft-tickets.com/uk/ticket-info/black-market

    BLACK MARKET

Many websites and individuals sell tickets to Roland-Garros, and every year numerous people buy fake tickets at highly elevated prices.

The only way to guarantee the validity of your ticket is by purchasing it from one of these three places:
    • the official ticketing website of the French Tennis Federation.
    • the official ticket exchange Roland-Garros viagogo.
    • one of the five official Roland-Garros 2013 ticket agents.

BY PURCHASING A TICKET ON A NON-AUTHORIZED WEBSITE OR IN THE STREET, YOU RUN THE RISK OF NOT ENTERING THE STADIUM BECAUSE:
    1.You have a fake ticket
2.You have not received your ticket
3.Your ticket has already been sold to one or more other persons

In any case, the tournament management will not be held responsible for the validity of the tickets bought on a non-authorized website or in the street.

HERE IS A LIST OF THE MAIN NON-AFFILIATED WEBSITES THAT SELL TICKETS FOR THE DIFFERENT EVENTS ORGANISED BY THE FRENCH TENNIS FEDERATION:
TICKETS BOUGHT ON THESE WEBSITES WILL NOT BE VALID TO ENTER THE GROUNDS!

But when I was looking for tickets online I saw so many on sale... I mean, so many are sold from 3rd parties that it must 'work' in some way otherwise the business wouldn't be profitable. I'm not defending the black market I just really don't want to believe that my 200 odd pound has been wasted.

Well for people selling them they lose nothing......post online, sell them and ship off.
It's the BUYER who gets screwed - proof is yourself - seller got his money but now u have tickets that you cannot change and the FFT will not do anything to
Help as you bought them outside the approved channels.

VIAGOGO also sells the tickets at face value - there is a small service fee but no
    giant markup.

Resale sites don't care - they got the sale and your money! All you can do MAYBE is dispute the charge - return the tickets somehow - ctc seat wave???? I'm sure they won't do anything but can't hurt to try - sure they have all sales ar final clause -

I am attending this year and I was wondering what kind of ID is required to enter. If you're from abroad, is a driver's licence sufficient or do they want to see a passport? I'd rather not bring the passport unless I have to.

Any official govt issued picture ID - drivers lic, Countries ID card, passport are all good. You can check out the FFT/RG tourny website FAQ as they list what you can and cannot use.

Can the websites maybe contact original ticket owner and ask them to change the name on the tickets?? I know it might be a privacy issue but, compared to having worthless tickets, it might be worth a shot.

Will you at least have access to the grounds with those tickets??

Lastly, is it free to watch the qualies or do they charge for that??

    1. Doubt it......can always try
    2. Nope.....as far as the FFT is concerned they are black market tickets and were purchased illegally.
    3. You must buy tickets for the qualies......20€ adults and 15€ for all under 15yrs general admin

I have both bought and sold tickets for the french open on seatwave.com and I can tell you that the site is legit.

As long as the seller assigns the ticket to the buyer. the ticket is valid (sellers usually get that info in the adress to send the tickets to.

Also, when many tickets are involved, I join a paper asking the buyer to email the names of the attendants to me.

In fact, here is a message I got from Seatwave when I told them I need the names of the attendants:
"We are aware that the tickets for the French open need to be personalized with the names of the people attending and we have contacted the buyer of your tickets to obtain these names. We will get back to you with this information as soon as possible.

Should you need any assistance or information, in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us back.

    Kind regards,"

Also, I have bought tickets for the quarterfinals and the buyer assigned the tickets in my name as well.

Last thing to note, the seller dont get paid until the event occured and the buyer confirmed he had no problem.

Why is it that on viagogo it seems you can only be a minimum of 2 tickets..?

Anyway, it seems likely I've been scammed, which is awesome :|
I just wanted to check with you guys, does the name on the ticket come up on the voucher when you scan the barcode, or is it in any way possible that the name displayed on the ticket is not relevant, and the barcode contains the actual name.
You see I bought tickets online and got sent an e-ticket but the name on it is not my name.....

Barcode has same name as what's printed....you input the name online then reprint the tickets - all then will match.
