Joachim Johnasson was ranked as high as 9th early last year. So how did he end up below "300"? Can someone please tell me what happened?

Injury (shoulder?) kept him out of most of 2005 so he couldn't defend/earn any points and thus fell in rankings. A pity since he had great promise.

Thanks. I figured it was due to some major setback. I did not follow his reports for the most part, that's why I was unaware of that.

I knew that his reason for falling down the ranks wasn't like that of Serena's though.

Injuries. He had shoulder surgery that sidelined him for most of 2005. He played a match earlier this year but aggravated his injury in the process and is still not fully recovered. Look for his return around Wimbledon.

He injured his wrist showing Hewitt's sister how a real man fist pumps.
