I have a problem that’s eating my head….I use a Prince O3 White strung with Bab pro hurricane @ 60 lbs(strung last year)…and I always have this problem of the ball kinda ‘poping’ off the strings too quickly for my liking so I cant really give the ball as much spin or depth as I intend to…I use semi-western and sometimes western grip depending on the shot. When ever I hit hard, the ball flies long and jus happening so long that I don’t know what to do…is it cuz o3 white is a ‘pop’ racket or am I making grave mistakes while hitting? Post ur thoughts..Thanks!

    Maybe you want new strings?

Are you putting enough topspin on your strokes? Because i know when ever i don't put on enough top they always fly long. Try recording your self on your video recorder or on your cell phone. And look what your doing wrong.

The Speedport White is a power racket; I used it for awhile and experienced the same problem. Then I tried the Speedport Black. Same problem---too much power which I was not able to wield without completely changing my strokes to suit the racket. I constantly had to temper my strokes to keep the ball in which in the ends does more harm to my game than good. I also tried different string set-ups with all different sorts of tension and nothing worked. I finally gave up and moved to another racket which is more control-oriented.

^oops...sorry just read that you are using the 03 White and not the Speedport...but I still think the 03 White is a powerful racquet. Great if you cannot generate your own power, not so great if you can.

I have had similar problems with all of the Prince O3 sticks I have tried in the past. Regardless of tension, I just never found enough dwell time with them...

If it has not been strung in that long the tension is no where near 60# anymore. It is probably more like 40#. Try a fresh string job and see how it does. Poly loses it's tension very quickly so it must be restrung often.

Thanks guys....I'm thinking it is the tension...cuz the string bed feels a bit more 'bouncy'....

yep I'm sure it's the tension. Poly's go lose alot of tension and go pretty dead after about 10 hours of hitting so if it's been in your frame as long as you say then you are long over due to restring.

Keeping an all Poly string job in your racket for that long will not only kill any control you had in the first place but can also mess up your arm. first off get it restrung with the same hurricane, if that doesn't help much consider a "textured" string like Kirschbaum super smash spikey. that might help you get more spin.

Try changing rackets. Or a more spin friendly string.
