i am normally 46/44, or so depending on string and other variable.

in a full bed of poly, i wondered if a 50/40 string job might have its advantages. the loose crosses would allow the mains to snap back and forth freely. there will likely be more power which is why i would up the mains from where i normally am.

has anyone tried this or similar?

might this damage the frame as it will being so unbalanced?

    thanks

A difference of ten lbs is a no-no when it comes to stringing. That is too extreme of a difference in tension.

I think it would eventually damage the frame. If you really want to increase power in a poly setup, then use a hybrid setup, such as gut mains and poly crosses. That's probably the most powerful poly setup you can find.

Or, you could cross with a soft, powerful multi such as Technifibre X-1 Biphase.
