Found this while trolling YouTube. I don't normally like watching western forehands but his looks really nice. I know people have asked for videos of Futures level players in the past, so I thought there might be some interest in this. His profile has more videos btw.

That's pretty cool, I enjoyed the second half of the vid most, with the "from behind" camera angle.

The whole "3.5 at best" thing is kind of a joke around here for those of you who don't know. We say that to everything because some troll always talks about how a great video of someone (see: tonlars's thread) is just a video of some crappy player.

    Good strokes though here!

He's got a great forehand. Doesn't seem to have any backhand, though. :)

If that's a futures player then so am I. Problem is, I'm not even close and unless I'm much mistaken, if that guy competed at that level, he'd get beaten pretty badly.

Yeah he's got a ways to go to compete in the big leagues. Looks like a decent college player maybe.

Didn't look like a good backhand in the video, but most players-even futures players-are basically a forehand and a serve these days, and compensate for the weaker wing. They can run around the backhand, as he did through most of the video. He'd beat the pants off of me.

His coach looks like he has a pretty nice backhand and a one-hander. That's nice to see.

Check out the other videos he's posted Phil. He's posted match play where he uses his backhand quite a bit. It looks very effective.

What kind of racquet is that? It looks more square than any racquet I've seen.

Western forehand with a K-Factor? That's odd... I thought those racquets were for flat eastern handed people.

I know some people who hit it with a western grip. But you would think that must people who use the k factor racket would hit more flat strokes

What is odd about hitting a western forehand with a k-factor? What made you think that racket is for flat eastern handed people? I don't think rackets are designed for a specific stroke. If anything, they may be designed for specific playing styles.
