No roof is really possible and the usta's incessant talk about it is simply an attempt to hide its own incompetence at building an already obsolescent piece of infrastructure.

My idea - that I had when we were discussing in the other thread - was similar to The Iris, although the Space Frames look very cool too.

People keep saying that it is not possible to build a roof, but IMO it is possible, it is very possible, it will just cost much more money than they may be willing to spend. In the end the Engineers will find the solution, the manager will knock it down.

    Its possible but not feasible.

You just have to put a roof on Armstrong and tweak the ticketing system in the event of rain.

This is an organisational problem, not an engineering one.

AA cannot support a roof!! It was not meant to. They choose quantity over quality and built it like a football stadium! The soil underneath is weak and cannot support it

Some of the concepts don't require the stadium to support a roof...Idea #4 looks like it might be the most practical and cost effective.
