Never heard of him. Does he have a chance as a Pro?

I think so.. He won 3 Jr slams back to back now.. He just needs US open to take all 4.. I think this kid is a lot better than Donald Young who is a PRO already..

Gael Monfils is also serving 130+ MPH and he doesn't play the race card like Young's complain about the Jr calling him names because he's black.

gorth, believe he has a chance to win a jr. grand slam, Stefan Edberg did that last in 1983. Never heard Noah use that card either.

What Donald Young did would not be classified as "playing the race card." What he did was explain that he has had to endure, from growing up in the projects to facing racism on the courts. Playing the race card is using your race for your own advantage, such as affirmative action. Donald Young was not looking to benefit from his testemonial, he was only explaining what he has had to endure. Even Malivai Washington came in and said that he has had to endure the same things. And when you say Monfils "played the race card," hwo would you know? When was the last time you saw an interview of him?

huge serve.. pretty big forehand.. tall but still looks like he's growing up.. when his body matures he's going to be a handful.. I'd say he's the real thing.

Yeah but one thing for sure is that watching that juniors final you realize how different of a game in shotmaking, pace on average rally shots and consistency i than what you see on the average ATP or even challenger level match.

Having seen both Gasquet and Nadal it is clear that those two guys are still clearly a cut above their other 18 and under peers.

Monfils has a shot at becoming a tour fixture but he looks a little lackadaisical out there.

Monfils plays the "junior level" andy roddick game. The big serve w/ the funky motion and the bif 4-hand. He is far and away the best junior out there now, but there's still a big gap between being the best junior and even being top 100 in the world. I think he'll get there eventually. By the way, frenchman richard gasquet just turned 18 a couple of weeks ago, if he can keep his body healthy he is the best chance for a french win at roland garros. He has a real federer quality to his game (smooth movement and shot making)

I didn't like his little ploy of going to his chair to use the towel for two seconds on match point, on his opponent's serve. Although McEnroe described this obvious gamesmanship as being "mature beyond his years", I, for one, hope that he grows out of such classless gestures.

I hope McEnroe grows out of his utter phoniness, too.

but he was behind Tsonga and Baghdatis when they were juniors and they both still could not make the qualies in the main events. so that should give you an indication of how far these boy can go in such a short time.
