    Hi Stinkdyr,

I'm not Gaines, but I believe the information you are seeking can be found at www.******************.com in their forums.

stinkdyr, Jerry is correct. If you look through the posts at GGS(link in Jerry's post), you'll find lots of good stuff on this. There have been several threads there on ATW patterns and one about the Parnell knot. He doesn't really claim that he invented it but other strings have called it that because he was the first one they saw using it. It is a modified double half hitch with the end of the string on the second half hitch going through the first one instead of itself. You tie the first half hitch, but don't tighten it. The thread the second one and insert the string end back through the first loop. You then tightern the first one, which traps the string end on the loop. You then pull the string end slowly through the first loop and tighten it.
