Didn't see the match so I can't say but the posters here should loosen up their leiderhosen and get ready to rumble. The tennis gods could not have picked a better time for RF to take some wind out of Rafa's sails.
This is setting up perfectly, a TV ratings bonanza. The tv commentators are gonna drive us crazy with their "who will win" blather, but I think both players know that RG, best of 5 is a whole different kind of animal. Lets hope that both are there at the end, we wouldn't want it any other way

Federer's win over Nadal is great, and makes this already a better claycourt season for him than last year. However, it's crazy to say that Federer's now the best on clay, or has had the best season. So-far, Nadal's had an almost-perfect clay-court season.

He has had the best season of any player on tour thus far. He has won the only slam, and now has a MST (on clay). He also has the dubai title.

Who else has had a better season than that?

this is an unbelievable win for federer, to beat nadal on clay, and not only beat him, but in the manner he did, (just going by the scoreline, i have not seen the match), and the timing, is perfect

he just has to maintain his composure, not get too confident, and he is in a very, very good position to win the french open

i have a lot of respect for nadal and his 81 match win streak, but now this rivalry could become really good if federer can beat nadal on clay

of course this event will stir up some disliking from nadal fans,...and the bandwagon federer fans will be partying all week

but this is great news for federer....if he lost this match, i would form my opinion that this is not his year for the french open...

Poor phrasing on my part. Federer has had the best season thus-far, with a slam and masters (even before that).

Nadal has had the best clay-court season thus-far.

Actually Nadal was ahead in the ATP 2007 Points Race by a margin of 465 to 365. Now after Hamburg I "believe" it will be 535 (465 + 70) for Rafa and 465 (365 + 100) for Roger. So that means that Nadal is still the 2007 points leader. I could be wrong. It is confusing because if you look at the rule book there are actually different scoring systems. But I believe the higher scoring system is for the rolling calendar year (ie 1000 for GS instead of 200; 500 for AMS instead of 100).

*PUKE* What are you on about? One freaking win doesnt make him 'KING OF CLAY'. Quit babbling. Squabbling, rather.
