Oh I meant when I was playing. We both witnessed frustration and the dude that I saw became really hateful and racist. It was a shame, in every sense of the word.

Ummmmm Gears of War came out last year.

You can beat Topspin 2, I have.

Yeah they don't compare because Gears is a ground breaking game, while RSV has been done many many times.

It seems to me that using words that are commonly considered racist and sexual profanity during in game chat is fairly frequent among a subset of gamers (probably teenage males). You get a lot of that on public servers. They actually think it is cool, funny and apparently normal speak.

I used to play Quake (I) mod "Mega TF." By far the greatest CTF/TFC rendition to date. I do play CS (Source or 1.6) occasionally. I like my FPS. Get in, get out, no need to level. I don't like that time commitment.

I also like the UT series, but have never gotten "in" to them.

Lol don't be hating on the modders! :) Actually I modded that case like 5 years ago when I was going to LAN events. After I stopped going there was no point in modding cases since nobody was really going to see it other than me. Well my little daughters think it is really cool :D

I used to be pretty hardcore into modding, and I wouldn't call your case a mod, exactly (no offense intended, honestly). The window is pre-cut and you added a cold cathode or similar. I have transitioned into a more silent computing direction. I have my computer on 24/7 more or less, and it's in my room. Lights are really annoying at night (regardless of whether or not you can switch them on/off). Windows also give another interface between plastic/metal, which tends to vibrate and/or transmit vibration through to a desk, or floor. When you're trying to sleep, this is definitely an annoyance. This is why I have so many seagate hard drives. They are tops in silence (except maybe to samsung drives), and have a good data rate. I might tip the hat in overall performance to hitachi drives (which is why I RAID-0ed them).

Shoot me an e-mail, I left you a few message across the forum, but I don't think you ever replied to me. diredesire @ hotmail

yah that really wasn't much of a mod. I am not offended at all. That time I just added a cold cathode with a precut panel :). It actually had a lighted fan on the back but that thing broke after about 3 years. My second attempt I did a lot more with lighted cables and fans, decals and paint. I never really got into cutting my case so I bought pre-cut. But after my second attempt I decided that my computer looked like something a teenager would use, and the coolness factor rapidly lost its appeal.

I usually buy all my stuff off newegg or search around on Price watch. I prefer newegg because they have a good return policy. I used to use monarch before than they went belly up. I just bought a mobo, cpu and vid card. The rest is brought over from my old comp.

Yeah, that's how it went for me. I figured that no one was going to see my computer anyways. Silence is very nice, and I like that "sleeper" look.

Goober gives good advice, price watch and newegg everything. I bought my stuff in pieces, so it's hard to give an estimate. (My "guts" are actually one generation back, too)

Upgrade your CRT? If you're going to a LCD it is more of a downgrade than anything;) My FW900 (24" widescreen CRT) will never leave my desk, mainly because it weighs 100 pounds:D, but when it comes to image quality, it's tough to top.

I have been playing it on GameTap. Graphically it looks nice. The environments are very beautiful, not as good as the outside ones in Legend though. I never did play the original first one.

Yah for actual image quality going to a LCD is not really an upgrade. Plus you get higher refresh rates with CRTs which is nice in FPS games. This is the reason I haven't switched yet. The other thing is what am I going to do with this huge 20" CRT monitor? I can't really sell it.

^^^Monkey Island series, and Maniac Mansion. Classics^^^

Do you have a favorite MI game? I have to go with the first one. But I think the last one "Escape From Monkey Island" (TM) may have the best lines of the series.

    I used to play games.

Those that I liked, at least for a while, are:

    1. CS, and later the CS source. but very boring after a while.
    2. Need for Speed series, until Underground crap series, although I did finish them.
    3. Max Payne 1 & 2: best games of all time, just because of the story.
    4. Never Winter Nights. addicted to single player, but not a popular MP here.
    5. Half Life: Team Fortress. didn't play TF 2.
    6. Half Life: Day of Defeat. Stopped until cheaters come along.
    7. Medal of Honor series. enjoyed the early series and multiplayer, eg. the MOHAA. Later ones not very good and funny, and repetitive.
    8. Half Life 2: only SP.
    9. GTR 1, and GTR2. Very good GT simulation games, but too many bugs. Time consuming, and tiring to continue practicing driving. Too addictive for driving addicts like myself, so i stopped to save my life. lol. Sold off every driving gear.
    10. Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Nothing much special. but a lot of marketing hype.
    11. Giants. One funny game, played 3 times. lol.
    12. Call of Duty: similar to MOH series. Was impressed by COD 1. but when COD2 comes out, I found it boring.

Soul Caliber on PS and XBox, but indeed very lame after a while. lol.

    I don't play strategy games.

GTR was good. like to race in Spa and Barcelona. and I only favored Monza only after a while, coz I considered it to be a stupid speed only track. :)

So do you guys get more mad playing games or playing tennis?

For me it is gaming online for sure- way more trashtalking, people always accusing others of botting/hacking, bad spawns, ect. It is still stress relieving though :D

    good question

Definitely get more mad at games. Reason is, there's awlays a rational explantion why you failed on the tennis court and you can trace the reason pretty easily. But in games there can be any number of things that are outta your control.
