Make sure your calibrator is confirmed good, though. I would be hesitant to trust a traditional spring plunger calibrator by itself. If you have a second scale to double-confirm, I'd do that first.

Hey Diredesire, I need your help

    Hey Dire,
I am considering buying a Gamma 5800, but not sure which one. I would like to save money if you think the 5800 6 pt without SC is just as good as the other 5800. Or I could go for 2 point if you think that is best with SC Okay let me know. If can email me at Randyrap@aol.com I would appreciate you input

I've commented on these in the past, so I won't go too far into it, but:

Non self-centering 5800 is fine, the mounting system is solid and mostly reliable. I wouldn't use it for a high volume setting. The better mounting system is miles ahead in usability. The inside mount is OK, not perfect, and could have been executed better. In terms of how well it works, it's fine/completely acceptable. If we're looking at machines >2200-2500, I'd just spring for a Star 5 if I had to buy retail.
