    Hi All,
here are pictures of the current Gamma base clamps hopefully to settle some of the arguments on different description of parts & clamps.

    Quick Action Base Clamp (MQAC)
    - found on table tops, 5003, 5800 & 6500.

    Switch Action Base Clamp (MSAC)
    - found on 6004 & 8800.

    • they both have springs to help the lever return to the 'home' position, even thought they look very different.
    • they are interchangeable.
    • the Quick Action base pinches the bar with a nut and bolt.
    • the Switch Action base has a cone that is lifted up when the lever is turned and the brass bottom part pinches the glide bar.
    • both have been very reliable for us and it is usually a matter of adjustment if they are not functioning properly.

For second, I thought the clamp exploded! Thanks for the help. They both must work well then.
