Hey, I'm fairly new to stringing (6 mos) and last night a friend asked me to string his racket. He gives me a pack of this Gamma Livewire 16G and I start to string...this stuff scuffs, chips, and damages SO EASILY! Anyone else have this problem? Or was this bad batch? Stringing the crosses was a breeze otherwise.

I have never strung the basic live wire but string with the XP and Professional vesions a lot. I do not have any of the issues you are mentioning. Are you sure your clamps are adjusted properly and clean?

Clamps were clean. Most of the damage came from gripping while pulling tension.

If you are using a linear gripper screw out the spring loaded set screw. This allows for more travel on the gripper and the gripper will close in on the string more to grip the string better. If the screw is screwed in too far it will not close and grip properly allowing it to slip causing string damage.
