I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the Gamma X-2 stringing machine. It's in my price range and I've never strung a racket before. I think it's a newer product, but if anyone has any comments on it, let me know. Thanks.

It's a solid machine for the money. Better than a klippermate. M suggestion would be to spend about 200 more dollars and get a progression with fixed clamps or a laserfibre with fixed clamps. I think you will be a lot happier with your machine even though you might soend a little bit more.

If I could spend an extra $200 I would. My budget is around the $150 area. I'll only be stringing for myself and my sister. I've been looking around and the ATS Super Stringer II looks about the same as the Gamma X-2 (same price range too). Any suggestions on which is "better"?

I was told that they are the same machine basically. They are even both made by Gamma. The ATS SS II has a longer (lifetime) warranty, so I'm going with that one. I like how the ATS looks more as well.

FFRPG, I was wondering the same thing and Emailed ats sports and got this reply

Yes they are very similar machines. The x-2 is a newer model that is made of
aluminum. It is lighter in weight and a little more streamline than the SS2.
That is the biggest difference. They both come with start-up tools and a
free-string package and they both have a 2 point mounting system. I hope this
information helps you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Tight space at the Top or Bottom of a racket on X2-Discuss

It is sometimes very difficult to get the Bulky Gamma flying clamp
in place to clamp the last cross before tye off.
My idea for next stringing job on X2 with the Bulky Gamma flying clamps :
When I have only the 2 last crosses to finish the job,
I weave the very last cross first, then the 2rd to the last,
I tension both (double pull) at the same pull, add about 5 lbs or more to this last pull if I want to.
Clamp both crosses: the 2rd to last & the 3rd to last cross then tie off.
    Please input your ideas. :)
