Do you guys me to give you details of the match. I only have to blog the Nadal/Grosjean match. But I can post details here if you would like. I don't know how many of you are getting TV coverage.

Okay, I can do that. I'm watching Andreev/Roddick now, but I'm going to go outside to watch it. And I want to let my computer continue to charge so it will also be ready for the Nadal match. BRB.

The players are on court and warming up. Are you getting ESPN coverage of this?

Fed to serve. Easy opening service game. Lost one point with a mishit. 1-0, RF.

I'm not going to do total play by play, because I have to do it for the Nadal match, but I'll give you highlights of each game here.

RG losest the first point, and then holds at 15. 1-1.

15-30. 30-30, after good serve. Game Federer, 2-1. They are still testing each other out there.

Fans are pouring in now. There likely will be more when the Nalby match is over. Game Gasquet, holding at 15. Gasquet is serving well, and Roger had a couple mishits in there. 2-2. Eeasy hold for Fed. I'll let you know when something interesting happens.

Is Federer's serve the same? Some people mentioned they thought it was different, and he didn't even notice it. Throwing the ball lower I guess. Is that true?

Two winners by Fed, including a great pass, and two errors by Gasquet gives Fed the break at love. 4-2, RF. Fed is playing better today than in his last match.

I don't see a difference in his toss. Screaming BH winner by Gasquet, but perhaps too little too late. 40-15. Gasquet overhits FH. Game Fed. 5-2. This may go quickly.

And it did go quickly, in 24 minutes. Gasquet had an easy hold, and then Fed close out the set on his serve. He's playing more confidently today, and Gasquet isn't pressing him the way Rochus did.

Fed got the break, as he dictated play. He had 3 winners, two errors, and then drew an error from Gasquet at 30-40. 3-2, RN. This is becoming an exciting at the Berdych/Baghdatis match. I don't see Gasquet making any inroads on Roger's service.

Gasquet held on, so it's 4-3. Roger's hit some nice winners, but still throwing in the unusual error. But he is serving well. I don't think RG can get the break back.

Bad shank by Roger, or else he would have had 2 matchpoints on RG's serve. 30-30. Another UE. He screams. 40-30. Great FH. Deuce. Roger hits bh wide. Ad RG. Crowd wants Roger to win, but they are pumping up RG. Lucky net cord for RG. And fans yell "Allez." RF to serve for the match.

Yes, he'll feel much better about his play, but part of it is Gasquet. Rochus played much better yesterday, IMO. RG hasn't had much of a chance on Roger's serve.

15-0. 30-0, after overrule. RG into net. 40-0. 3 MP's. A very routine match for RF. Fed wins!! 6-3, 6-4. Now onto the "big" match. I will blog at the Nadal site.

Fed is back to his usual form. Gasquet proved to be no problem. Too many people were downing Fed and predicting an upset. FedEx rolls on!!!

despite some stupid errors now and then, he was on fire today - the first match in quite a while where I haven't thought one sec he could lose! :)
94% of his 1. serve won and 63% of his 2nd says it all - Gasquet had no shot at Roger's serve

Nice work today by the Federator. He still made too many UE's but played much better than yesterday against Rochus. I think he re-focused himself for this match...realized he needs to step out on the court and simply play his game for an hour and a half.

Susan pointed out the other day that some people believe the players who played Dubai are feeling weak at this tournament due to the significant time change. I saw this in Fed yesterday...haven't seen Nadal play but some have told me he you can't really notice it on him.

It definitely was noticeable in his first match against Hernych, although the wind was giving him trouble, too. He seemed better last night. Guess we'll see how he is against Seb. Vamos!!!

BTW, a cute story. I was having lunch, and Marat and Dinara were having lunch at the next table. Rafa went by, Marat saw him, and yelled, "El Toro, El Toro." Rafa thought it was funny.

    :) - that's pretty funny.

I hope Nadal doesn't run out of steam out there today. I'm pulling for him as I want to see a Nad-Bag quarterfinal!!

    lol - nice story
I sooooo would like to see a match between Marat and Rafa, but somehow they're always drawn in different halfs or they're injured! :( I really hope both are in the same half in Miami.

Safin always complains how crappy the food they serve the players is.

Outta curiosity, what did Safin have for lunch? For some reason I wouldn't be surprised if he had a big mac and a glass of jack daniels.

I have no idea what he ate. I didn't look that closely. The media/players share a dining area. I just knew what Flavia Pennetta ate the other day because I was behind her in the chopped salad line.

The players get monopoly money to buy their food there. We get the same type of money, too, although we get less of it, I'm sure. ;-) The cafeteria is nice.
