Abit belated but George Best, the man Pele said was the greatest footballer in the world, died on Friday aged 59. I don't if any of you are aware of him (he played for a few US teams at the back end of his career) but this has been huge news in Europe. Just thought i'd post this.

I went to Old Trafford Saturday night to have a look at all the tributes and took some pictures on my phone.

For you Brits and other soccer experts:

I was trying to explain to my son (a 10-year-old American kid who has become enamored with European soccer) about George Best's stature. The closest comparison I could come up with is Michael Jordan. How accurate is this? Any other American athletes that could come close?

The problem is that there isn't a sport in the US that compares to what soccer/football is in the UK (or most places around the world).

I remember growing up in Poland and being obsessed with soccer I used to love to read about great soccer heroes .One of them was George Best.God gave him this unbelievable genius like a cross which ultimately was too heavy to carry.
    RIP.
