So as all can see summer is almost over, and since my coach at school isn't really going to do any warm-up practice before the games, :???: I thought I'd work out a little and get back in shape before school starts and get ahead of my teammates. So does anyone have any ideas on how I can work out how long and how hard to do so?? Thank you. :)

    just run tennis court suicides...
like 20x a day... with 2-3 minute break each run and you will pretty much dominate the opposition in terms of fitness... and tennis is all about fitness

^ above exercise is for people already fit
but want to improve their speed on court

well thanks but uh..... i was also wondering... what if we're talking in terms of getting back in the habits and your form... is there any suggestion on what drills to do. Like the tennis part of the game instead of fitness?? :D thanks again

well you need to worry about getting to the ball and attempt to set up your form first before you actually execute your form dont you?

suicides help you get there faster so you can have ample time to set up your roger federer forehand to blast at your enemies ...

you could always try and find a hitting partner or a ball machine and just work on your form 1-2 times a week. After warming up your arm work on your serves as well. You probably don't need to spend that much time unless you wanna be a super star but 2-4 hours a week before a season isn't a bad regiment. As far as the fitness part goes I would agree running a bit might help, especially if you've been sitting on the couch all summer :)

doing 20 suicides with 3 minutes in between isnt gonna get you in shape very well...maybe 20 suicides in a row, then a 3 minute break. and do that a couple times lol.

1 suicide is supposed to max out heart rate...
im talking about HIIT where you let your heart rate drop then max out again...
its good for cutting fat too

if you can do 20 suicides in a row then you are definitely NOT maxing out heart rate and thats not very useful/effective training!

most good athletes can max out heart rate like 1 minute
