I was biking home around 7:40 from the Sarasota Open about 20 minutes after Ginepri lost a third set TB to Pospisil. Biking north on Gulf Drive and about a mile from the Longboat Key Club tennis center, on the side of the road laying in the grass was a black Babolat Propulse 3, still wet and caked in green clay. Another 1/4 mile or so up was the other. They had to be Ginepris, no other player that day was wearing black Babolats and his were still very wet and the har tru caking them was also still wet. Nice find eh?

Immediately cleaned them up and changed the blue laces to black, they feel great and soft. They are size 11 and just off from my 10.5 but I'm gonna wear them. Pretty comfy shoe, they feel different and better than my white Babolat Propulse 3s which were a little stiffer around the back of ankle area.

They were soaked in Ginepris bodily fluids, yet you decided to wear them?

You should follow him to his next tournament. Maybe he will throw his sweaty socks out too and you can wear them with the shoes.

Why would you wear someone elses shoes? Especially if they were used by a pro who probably sweats a lot :confused:. Please dont tell us when your foot gets like an infection or something.

How do we know they are not from some disgruntled 3.0 who just quit the sport? If you can prove they are from Robby, this is a GOAT type thread.

I left the venue shortly after Ginepri lost. Not a mile down the road on the side I spotted the first shoe. It was wet and caked, so I tried to calculate who's shoe it was. I couldn't think of another player that played all day who wore those Babolats, except for Ginepri who lost less than an hour earlier. It had to be him. Then I found the second shoe further down the road. Upon closer inspection there is a script signature on the green ankle strap in the backs. It's cleary an R. and something else. It has to be Ginepri, I'm 99.6% sure these are shoes of Ginepro. The odds of them being discarded shoes from a 3.0 player is about .005%.

When I get my camera problems fixed I will post photos. Believe what you want.

Pro players discard free equipment all the time. I have heard stories from locker room attendants at tournaments of pro players smashing all their racquets after a loss and even tossing all their attire and shoes into the garbage can.

Man, all those shoes have a "signature" on the ankle straps. It's Andy Roddicks "signature"

Look at all the views of the shoes here on TW:http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/viewlarge.html?pcode=BMP3G

You can clearly see thats "Andy R" on the strap on the heel

Yeah this whole story is slightly disturbing. Tell me real quick, if he would have thrown his shorts out of the window would you have worn those too?

Wow, quite the judgmental crowd. Sure, clean them up enough, get them dry, and I would wear them too. And yeah, I would wear the shorts as well. I happen to buy quite a bit of 2nd hand clothes (not shoes though) and think nothing of it.

And it's not like these shoes are being worn without socks (I hope). Not to mention probably two pair, or one really thick pair, due to the size difference.

I think it's an awesome find myself.

for me, it's more about the memorabilia aspect of it. i wouldn't want to wear it because i don't want to ruin the novelty of it.

I will concur that players toss stuff all the time...my son was the ballboy last week during the Lopez/Isner match where in the 3rd set my boy was instructed to get new shoes for Lopez from his coaches......later Lopez just told the ballboys to toss them....in fact if you are able to watch the the end of the match you can see a ballboy running to Lopez as he leaves the court with dirty wet clay caked shoes in his hand and is told to keep'em. That said wearing the dang things is pretty gross:shock:

Yes I think you are right I should not have worn them or touched them. Because since touching and wearing them my hands and feet have both turned green. I'm typing this from the emergency room, doctor said it's touch and go. One week of antibiotics and bed stay might save me from this terrible unknown disease contracted from Ginepri's used shoes.

Actually did notice that, Lopez was holding the extra pair of used shoes and looked ready to give them away. WOnder what was the problem with the shoes that he needed a new pair. What size are they? Maybe wanna make a trade?

My son is the ballboy who ran the new shoes to Lopez from his coach and stood over during that changeover he said the shoes were soaked thru and thru...it was pretty humid this past week. It was another kid who saw them on the court and ran them to Lopez thinking he forgot them...Lopez told him "throw away" and the kid kept them. Son said they were totally dripping wet and he (Lopez) was complaining of the clay sticking.
