Ok, just watched Ginepri play Enquist at San Jose and it seems he resolved whatever differences he had with Babolat. Storm PJ...

Well, he was probably bullying Babolat during contract renegociations.

Yep. Maybe the end of Babolat as we know it (not that they didn't put pjs before in the hands of their players)

Oh yeah, forgot I asked Robby about that on Sunday. First, he hasn't been under contract with Babolat for about two years. Go look at old Getty pics and you will see that although the paint job was obvious, his strings have not been painted for a while and he's always carried Nike bags. Yes, he was playing with a Wilson racquet for a while, because he was thinking of switching. He decided that they just didn't work for him and he went back to his Babolat Pure Control, which he's very comfortable with. Still working out the details with Babolat (wouldn't hurt to get the ranking back up to Top 50 there Neps).

His strings not being stencilled just means that he's not using Babolat strings.

I thought the Babolat string stencil could refer to the racket OR the strings ...

His strings aren't stenciled because he's not under contract to Babolat.

He was wearing clothes and a big smile, because he was happy to see me.

But if there's enough of an allegiance / relationship with Babolat that he's using their current pj right now, why not the stencil? Maybe the answer is that he's run out of his old PCs and has no other choice but to use the new pj without having a deal in place.

Anyway, we're talking about Robby Ginepri here - how much more interest can we milk from this??
