Players practice throughout the day, many times twice. A few hit the courts early after 8:00, but most get out around 10:00.

They also post scheduled times when guys are slated to practice. There's an electronic board on site that displays the info.

Usually, they'll go out about an hour and a half to 45 minutes before their scheduled match for the day. Or they'll be out hitting on the days off before a tournament match.

It mostly matters on the day, on most early days you can get tickets at the gate but once you get farther in the tournament, most tickets are sold out.

    Hey guys,
Me and my wife are thinking about driving to Cincinnati. We live in IL about 4 hours west of cincy. We would like to watch both federer ( I like federer) and Nadal play. What do you guys think is the best time to attend the event so we can check these two play and maybe see some pros practicing.

What all things to bring from home when going to watch a tennis match. We have never been to any live pro events. We have a 10 month old baby and we are bringing her too.

    Thanks.

    Ragpicker, Aeropro master,
Thank you very much for ticket information.

I bought tickets for both sessions on Friday and Saturday. Called ticket office before purchasing. I was told that while plenty of tickets were available for Friday day session, the other three sessions had limited availability, particularly very few available for Saturday evening.

This is my first time to a live event. I hope Federer gets through. My son and I will look for him at the practice courts.

Wow a lot of people live in Cincy, weather was absolutely perfect today and should be at least tolerable rest of the week, only in the 70s on Saturday. The only problem is that it's supposed to storm tomorrow, hope it holds off for a while :(.

Nadal is scheduled to play Wednesday at 1:00pm, while Federer is set to play at 7:30 later that night. To see both matches you would need a separate ticket for both the day and night sessions. It is highly unlikely that they will both play during the same session until they would meet in the Final.

I spoke to the ticket chairman today, who told me that all seats were sold out for today's(Tuesday's) day session. Temps were comfortable today, so they had a big walk-up crowd. They were selling grounds passes. It appeared that there were some seats available at the evening session.

If you are coming from far away, I would purchase tickets in advance to be sure to get in. Remember that both Federer and Nadal would only play on our Center Court, tickets for "Grandstand only" would not get you in to see these great players.

As a side note, Nadal was going to play doubles but had to withdraw when his partner, Gasquet, pulled up lame with a blister on his finger.

We're leaving in two hours (I can't sleep...not out of anticipation though.)

If it storms...wow I'm going to be really mad!

As you probably know by now, Nadal is out. He had to retire due to an arm injury during his first round match.

Federer did win, and will play during the day session. So will Roddick. Blake is scheduled for the night session. He will be followed by the Bryan brothers.

Djokovic also lost today playing uninspired (tired from Montreal) tennis.

Two days and one night of some pretty great tennis! I survived and have over 400 pictures, most of which I'll be posting in a thread pretty soon. Check here or the general pro player discussion for a link!
