Hi all, I'm going to be in Washington DC for 4 days over spring break. Can anyone recommend some good tennis stores, preferably outlet type stores. I'm not really looking for rackets or anything major, but I would like to buy some shoes or clothes if I can find them at a good price.

    Thanks in advance.

Its about a half hour away but you can go to ******** sports. I never deal with them online because I had some bad experiences with them. Nevertheless, they have a nice outlet on route 40.

I think I know who you mean. Starts with an H, ends with a bird?

IIRC correctly, there's a Nike outlet out in Leesburgh, but that's about 45+ minuted outside the city.

The 'bird is outside Baltimore, about an hour from DC.

Outside of that, you won't find outlet prices.

In the city, there's Drilling Tennis and Golf, but they charge full price.

I'd avoid the tennis facory in Arlington.

    There's also TennisTopia in Bethesda.

I never buy my shoes in a store anymore. I always order from TW.

There's Racquet & Jog on Elm St. in Bethesda (my hometown!), and the aforementioned Drilling Tennis on 17th NW in DC. There are a couple chains in the area - City Sports, Nash and the one that's a nickname for Richard, to name a few - but no large outlets except the Bird that I'm aware of.

leesburg premium outlets on fort evans road in leesburg, va is the best outlet store in the area. it's about 30-45 mins outside dc. Also, there's hagerstown prime outlets in hagerstown, md which is about the same amount of time away from dc (but in the northern direction). Those are the two outlet choices. Otherwise you can go to tennistopia in rockville, md off halpine road which is about 20 mins from dc if you go northbound on 355.
