We all know that Federer has won 17 Grand Slams, Sampras has won 14 Grand Slams, and Nadal has won 13 Grand Slams.

I think it is also interesting to know the number of Grand Slams that each of these players lost to the eventual champion at a Grand Slam. As a Federer fanatic, I would always rather have Federer lose to the eventual champion than anyone else in the draw.

Federer - 12 times lost to the eventual champion in a Grand Slam
Sampras - 10 times lost to the eventual champion in a Grand Slam
Nadal - 6 times lost to the eventual champion in a Grand Slam

Note: Ivan Lendl won 8 Grand Slams, but lost to the eventual champion in a Grand Slam a staggering 23 times.

Why is your agenda so easy to spot in every thread you make? Oh that's right, it's the same agenda

    Tell me about it!

And just for the record to OP, I like your 'nickname' very much. McEnroe was/is IMO most talented player ever!

Thats great, but Federer has 5 years of GS tournaments ahead of Nadal, so about 20 GS available for Nadal to lose to the eventual winner ;)

Lendl's stat is staggering though! Does this mean he often was unlucky to run into a 'hot' player on GS tournaments, or does it mean that he was simply bad at rising to the occasion to pull out a win?

    Quality players. Grand slam materials.

So what is the number for Ferrer? And what sort of grand slam material is he?
In the last two years itself, Ferrer lost 4 times to eventual winner. It must be around 10 in his entire career. And he might end up with 10-15 by retirement. Must be a huge Grandslam material. Facepalm.

Ferrer is a very good player but not in the same league with slam winners. Ferrer has never reach #1 and/or end the year #1 while basically every slam winners have reached that feat. Ferrer only made 1 slam final and it was an easy draw. Using Ferrer is a poor example.

That he's just as bad as TDK is but working for the other side. About time to throw the hammer down on this one too for all the nonsensical flooding of the forum.
