"Rising youngster Pablo Carreno Busta, for example, has already won a ridiculous 71 matches this year, 66 of which were Challengers and Futures, yet he’s only earned $120,000 in prize money. Some of those Futures events Carreno Busta conquered paid out a meager $1,300. He likely lost money even when he was winning."

I ballboyed for Michael Russel a few years ago and he is one of the nicest guys on tour. He always said please and thank you. Hope he continues to do well.

He's 35 and keeps on going. Never been above No. 60 but always there. Former Cane!

I also had this experience. In fact, Russell is the only player I can recall that actually turns around and looks at the ball person when he has picked the 2 of the 3 he initially takes and wants to give one back. He then hits it softly but with some arc on it so the ball person can easily catch it on one bounce, as opposed to most players that just roll the ball to you with their back turned. (which isn't a big deal to pick up, but it just shows how much Russell wants to be nice.)
