i want to take out the grommets of my two old 5.9 stretches, but i'm unsure about how to go about doing it.
is there any suggested method? and if it were to break in half, yet i could still put the piece back into the hole, will it still work ?

Just push them out from the inside of the frame, sometimes they are tough to get out if you have used the racket for a long time.

Once the grommets are flared, it is virually impossible to reinsert them without risk of damage, and subsequent stringing jobs will get dodgy.

as for inserting new grommets all you need is an awl to adjust the grommet in place and to thread it in to the holes. but it really helps to put the grommet in the sun first so that it is easier to work with and will be more mendable;)
