Why does he bother to use the Dunlop stencil?

I mean there is nothing Dunlop on that racket or strings.

This has been discussed several times, and the best bet is that for some reason, he doesn't have access to his own frames. Of course he still has to play, though, so he borrowed someone else's frames, but he still put the stencil on there because 95% of the people watching won't know the difference.

It would be most embarrassing for Dunlop if he actually played better and ends up winning the tournament... :)

Most of the spectators have no idea what racquet brand nor model Haas is using. All they can see from a distance is the logo stencil on his strings. I'd bet if you asked all the people watching his matches, 99% will say he was using a Dunlop.

Seems reasonable ... except for the "he doesn't have access to his own frames" part. Why, on Earth, would a Pro of his stature not have access to his own sticks...?

It is only a matter of what Layup Haas is using in the HEAD 630 headsize frame. It even has C.A.P system on it.

Of course Haas has access to his frames.
I read on another tennis forum from stringers that posted who are in Houston stringing on site that Haas is experimenting with 3 different frames.

It wuld be interesting to see what happens if he wins the tournament. On a side note how does anyone hit a 1 handed b/hand with a head racket i just cant do it.

Haas did use the HEAD Pro Tour 630 before Dunlop.

Hmmm....I don't seem to have a problem hitting 1HBH's with Head racquets even with the more rectangular grip. To me, it feel weirder on the forehand.

Most pros get their handles custom molded by their stringer/customizer so no matter what brand of racquet they are using their handles are always the same exact shape and size to fit their hands perfectly. They don't have to choose between preset sizes (like 4 1/2, 4 5/8, etc.) nor shapes as the handles can be custom molded to any size (like 4 9/16, etc.) and shape they want. Don't forget that ALL frames, even retail ones you buy in the store, are molded without handles on them. The handles are always added later on.

But Haas doesn't need to change the pallet, like you stated, as there was never a pallet there to begin with. The original handle is custom molded just for him.

if they are borrowed rackets he would have to change the handle or play with them as is i guess so the handle could be a problem with these particular rackets. i doubt they are borrowed tho.
