Last night I had a nightmare that Nadal won the US Open and all the talk about Nadal catching up to Fed's slam totals started back up. It would be horrible if Nadal won 2 slams on what alot of people are calling an off year for him. When I woke up I started hoping that Fed would win the US Open some how. Would really change the perspective on how this year went for Fed if he wins a Slam. One slam win and one slam final is great year by any standard.

LOL This is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. I picture you waking up suddenly in the middle of the night in panic screaming "Noooooooooooooo!" You mom comes in and holds you; "Don't worry, it won't happen, it can't happen, right?":)

But honestly, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I had a reverie in which Grosjean made a comeback at the USO, wildcarded into the main draw where he promptly beat Roddick, Troicki and Soderling on his way to the QFs, eventually losing to Djoko in straights.

Meanwhile, Kuerten got a wildcard into the qualifying draw, powering his way through to R128 to face Pere Riba. After that easy match and an easier one against Garcia-Lopez, his face assumed a bemused expression as if he was wondering, "Even with this dodgy hip, why did I retire?" His run ended 6-7 3-6 6-7(14) against Nadal in the third round.

Twas such a good reverie, the USTA and Tennis Australia swapped wildcards, allowing Rafter into the USO main draw also. He faced Fish in the first round and lost bravely. "Get to the final mate, and I'll keep you a place on the Legends Tour", Pat promised at the net. Fish took this as his inspiration and performed some back-to-back giant killing, disposing of Fed in the QFs and Djoko in the semis. Exhausted from his exploits, he surrendered tamely to Murray in the final and proceeded to condemn the tournament's shamless pandering to TV schedules by sandwiching the final rounds together; so ill natured was his tirade, he forgot to thank the sponsors, and only stopped when the crowd's boos started to drown him out.

Overall, it was a great event loaded with captivating contests including Monfils/Dimitrov, Monfils/Ferrero, Murray/Hewitt, Nadal/Gulbis, Simon/Del Potro, Tomic/Federer, Isner/Soderling, Wawrinka/Young, Murray/Young, Tsonga/Bubka. The tennis fan community was so reinvigorated by the fortnight that outpourings of good will flowed long afterwards, evinced by the cordial and engaging discussions shared across tennis forums everywhere. This enthusiasm spread so far it reined in legions of new fans, leading to skyrocketing tennis club membership across the whole planet. New, richer sponsors poked their noses into the sport and liked what they saw, so they stayed; prize money for 2012 was projected to be three times higher on average at all tiers of the sport.

And somewhere in Nottingham a three-year-old, future British Wimbledon champion held a racquet for the first time.

Federer got a cow, and Nadal got a mare, and now a cormorant flies in our midst, so it's all good :) .

Poor you, from now on you should keep the light on when you sleep (like Nadal does). I hope you are able to sleep tonight.

I actually once had a dream in which Nadal visited my house, signed some autographs and was telling me the exact specs of his rackets. He's actually a cool guy (going by my dream), so don't worry.

Is it? Lets see. We had earthquake and tsunami and nuclear disaster in Japan, all sorts crazy **** in Middle East, Steve Jobs quit as CEO of Apple and now Irene is messing up New York. Obviously the guy upstairs didn't think Nadal winning USO was funny.

Well, he should win the USO, he'll be fresh while Djokovic will probably be tired. Fed will lose to a Berdych or a Tsonga and Murray will disappoint again.

Funny, I had the exact same reverie, except that Kuerten lost 7-5 6-1 6-4.

I thought that there was no way he could do it... but then I remebered the serve he showed up with last year... and also the news about how slow the courts are this year... also first year he has gone into it without the pressure to win it for the first time

I think Nadal has a real chance

I dream about having a threesome with Jessica Alba and Megan Fox and you're dreaming about Nadal?

    Something is wrong there...

Lets make it two (or whatever the count is) in a row.

I do watch news and world is still fine. Ofcourse FINE is a relative word and varies from individuals.

I liked Nadal's win at USO and want him to win more .

Your dream raises an interesting point. Nadal winning the US Open would completely remove the spotlight from Djokovic,
    [IMG]
and make Nadal's quest for 16 slams a very real scenario

Somehow I don't believe you, in other words I smell a rat.

My guess is that your worst nightmare is Fed winning #17 and moving further away from Pete in slam count.

Look at the bright side: IF Rafa wins again we might see the school girl (a.k.a. Roger) crying again... That's worth all the money.
I have a feeling this USO can turn into a fiasco with Nadal playing clay-court style at USO, Roger going out before the semi and Joker quitting.

I sometimes think the whole of 2011 has been a weird dream! I mean, Djokovic suddenly winning everything in sight, humiliating Nadal and Federer along the way time after time??

I half expect this to be like that season in Dallas when Bobby Ewing was supposed to be dead but at the end Pam woke up and he was in the shower!

I will wake up and there will be Rafa holding all the trophies again with Novak looking sheepishly in the background!!
