The Hammertec string sequence provided both significant power and feel for Wilson's original head-heavy Hammer series, for which it was designed. The 18-gauge version broke rather easily, though.

Even if you put chicken wire or weed wacker line or shoe laces on a PC600 you will have a sweet spot. Hammertec 18g were going for below $2 on TW at one point. I was lucky to have found a sub $2 string that is below 1.20mm. Gosen is nice but double the price at almost $4 and you know i am not cheap because I play Pacific Prime gut, but while testing over 200 sticks and string them up every few days for the past six years, Hammertec 18g came in handy and fun. I would have taken out a second mortage on my house if I were doing my tests with Pacific Prime gut.
