Well forgive me if I'm overlooking this but I don't see a thread anywhere....

Haas is the 4th active player to hit the 500 mark. A phenomenal achievement considering all his injuries, ending 2010 barely ranked inside the top 400 and being 34 years old right now. He entered the year outside top 200 and is now #20.

    Congrats!

Side note: I remember a year or so ago Tommy "became" American, but then went back to German, and now the flag beside his name changes all the time. Is he American or German?

    Wiki:

On 27 January 2010, Haas became a United States citizen.[9]

(Perhaps dual citizenship is allowed for Germans?)

Yeah I remember when that happened, but he is still referred to as German in all the ATP.com articles and usually has a German flag next to his name. Sometimes I see an American flag but rarely is he ever referred to as American.

I understand the dual citizenship possibility, but I thought he made the decision to start competing as an American. Hasn't caught on I guess

Tommy Haas is a miracle, I can't believe with all the injuries he's still as good as he is, a supreme talent.

I was half-surprised to realize he's 34. Yeah, he's sure had his fair of injuries, but who thought he'd one day be entering his 17th pro season?

Congrats, Tommy! IMO, a shoe-in for Comeback Player of '12.

Now only 742 behind Connors...might make it there before he's 60.

he still represents German. I do not remember when he ever played under US flag. Another example - Scharapova. She is also dual but always plays for RU.. Opposite case - Bolomolov Jr.

I don't think Sharapova has the US citizenship, only a green card...

Along with Nalbandian Haas heads a group of awesome players who have never managed to win a Grand Slam. It shows just how insanely hard it is to win a single one of these things. Well done on the amazing comeback.

If you type "Tommy Haas" into Google, his recent score show and he is flagged as American
