The following applies to my stringing of mains only:

The entire time I've had my WISE, about three years now, when stringing the mains, I've been releasing the clamp on the string WHILE the machine is in the process of pulling the initial tension (before it has gone into the mode of maintaining the tension it has pulled).

It never dawned on me until the other day that maybe I should wait until the machine has "beeped" twice to release the clamp and then lock it onto the current string.

Is it wrong for me to do it this way? Is it harder on the WISE?

probably not harder on the wise, but maybe only slight inconsistent tension.
