Did anyone notice the similarity between the Fed Nadal match today and the 1980 match between Borg and McEnroe?

Apart from it being the 5th Wimbledon title for each, that is?

Both were 5 setters and both looked like the eventual champion was going to lose. Borg (in a clip often shown on TV) refers to that match and says "He can't take it away, my match".

I bet Fed had this in the back of this mind in that 5th set!

The other similarity is the champions (Borg and Fed) are facing resistance from young guns(Mcenroe and Nadal).

The pattern would be complete if next year Nadal defeats Fed in 4 sets.

    Yes, good point.

Incidentally, the Borg McEnroe match was probably the best Wimbldon final ever. Luckily I have it on DVD - will probably play it today to compare it with the Fed Nadal match.
