I just got my hand on a Head Classic MID.

I have read about this racquet playing better with lower tension.

Pls suggest a tension to start experiment?

Is 16g better or should i use 17g to start experimenting?

    Thank you.

I used 16 gauge at 52 pounds--the racquet was strung on a constant-pull machine; I'd suggest 57 pounds if strung on a spring-tension machine. Also, I was using a very stiff string, Prince Duraflex/16 gauge, which is rated around 7.0 for playability. If I were using a softer string, I would have increases the tension perhaps five pounds tighter for a string rated 9.0 or higher. It's simply a matter of personal preference.

    Head Classic MP Tension

I have a HEAD Classic Mid Plus with Technifibre NRG2 17 guage, strung at 60. I use to string my raquet at 58, but I now prefer the tighter tension, which provides better feel...at least for me.

    Prestige 600 stringing

I was researching the same issue for the Head Prestige Classic 600, which is the later run of the Prestige Classic (same as TW but not from TW) and got the following suggestions:

    18 g:
    NRG2 18g 52 lbs
    bow 18g 54 lbs

    17 g:
    technifiber 515 17g at 60 lbs
gamma TNT pro 17L (at mid tension 55)
laserfibre supreme 17g (at mid tension also 55)

Despite my signature, don't use Livewire Pro. In the words of the person who recommended the above, "you have put SUV tires on a Ferrari (prestige 600) ... Livewire Pro plays like a 2 x 4".
