How are the TGKs different from the PTs?

Dr, thanks for the info (as usual). Do you have any idea when the production of the PT frames is scheduled to end? This year? Next year?

Sorry, no idea, and no final word on this...
It may end after the Youtek cycle since there are already rackets with the YT PJ out there (Murray, Simon, Young, Soderling, etc...)

I am also curious about the "other" custom made sticks like Djokovic which is neither the PT57 or the TGK, etc...

The TGK is a Pro stock line (made of different materials than the retail sticks) made at the High-end Chinese factories, finished off in the Head Pro room. The PTs are still made in Austrian factory, making them exclusive to the top sponsored (or high expectations) players.

Both are made of the high quality materials, lighter than the retail sticks. The PT57s definitely feel softer, and different than the TGK. THerefore, if this switch happens, I would expect more versions of the TGK frames (layups).

What I want to know is, are the TGK 238.1 prestgie MP 18 x 20 the same in microgel and youtek lines of pro stock. Is head just changing the paint jobs or are they different versions? Can someone compare the specs of a stock MG prestige 18 x 20 vs. a MG TGK 238.1. Also what is the difference if any between Microgel TGK 238.1 vs. Youtek TGK 238.1? These are the important questions we need to ask.

Judging from the fact that pros don't like change, I think it's just a matter of PJ.

Head's pretty lame, they even put a YT PJ on a supermarket racket like the Nano series

There's not a way to directly compare specs, the TGK's come in ULTRA light in stock form (sub 300g I believe) so you can customize the weight and balance the way you would like.

While I do not have pro stock frames, I did change the pallets on one of my Microgel Radical OS racquets last night.

The Head Code on the frame was TGK232.1. So I assume that is the mold code for the Radical OS.

All the Prestige tour players were distributed the TGK 238.4 "Youtek" Great racquet. Required no break in time.

I thought I had a fairly good idea of the codes after first several pages. But as the thread goes on, this is getting more confusing than ever before...

    I have a couple of TGK219.9.
    I don't know what .9 means.
    Can anyone help me?
Both the racquets have microgel pj and, with some silicone in the handle the weight is 336gr.
The code is placed in the handle, under the pallets.
It is also reported the weight (I believe without pallets, grip, butt cap, string and silicone) that is 250gr and the balance point that is 384 mm.
    This is the complete code:
    TGK219.9 -1H1 WT250g BP384mm A416
Also I don’t know what -1H1 and A416 stay for.
    Beat regards
    Marco

Just to be clear, these Pro Stock racquets have specs all their own, but retain the retail racquet paint jobs? Do you know the specs for these Pro Stock racquets? Great intel, thanks!

my 238.1 had a sticker inside the pallet indicating specs:

    TGK 238.1- A1, WT: 256 grams, BP: 373mm, K 099

These are of the uncustomized hairpin.

Anyone have a list of players other than Chardy who use the 231.2 or the newer Youtek version of the same racket?

Yes lots of players on Tour used it. I have seen lots for sale. They were for sale from 1986 to 2000. Then TW was able to get a batch in 2003 and 2006. It went buy names Prestige Pro and Prestige Classic 600. You can pick them up on the bay all the time.

I've seen the pc600s all over the bay but I haven't ever seen one labeled as a pt10. I've seen the different pj versions of the pt57a but not of the pt10.

Sorry if this is completely nonsense question, but is there a pro stock model of the Radical Oversize racquets? Or do the players playing with the Radical OS actually use a Radical OS (perhaps an older model?) under the paintjob?

Lol. No that's not it at all. Believe me I would be plenty happy if I could find a couple of nice pc600s that people didn't want a ridiculous amount for. I was just curious because I hadn't ever seen the pj versions of the pt10. Just a curiousity.

Well ive never either seen an Andy Murray racket with a PT 57A code inside. What ive been told is that before he switched to the more open string pattern, he used an old radical, which is similar to the pro tour but stiffer, the trisys mold that agassi used but in an oversize. My guess is thats probably what hes still using but only with an open string pattern....

From what I've read over the years, I actually think his older stick was the PT57 but with the I radical pj and the conventional 18X20 pattern of the PT57.
I don't think his sticks have the pt57 on the throat....at least in the pics posted on here of both his MG and YT versions.

News Flash: The Pro Tour 630 and the Radcial Tour 630 (Radcial Trisys 260 MP) both use the same MOLD. Yes indeed Murray uses a PT57..........

VS Bab, off topic, but did Agassi use a 102 sq inch or 107 stick? I was watching that classic blake v agassi match the other night and it got me thinking....

Agassi's main stick was the Radical Tour 690. He used it with 20x21 string pattern and 18x19 string pattern. He also tried to use the Classic Midplus (Prestige Classic 660) 102sq.in head size at the 2003 U.S. Open. For 2005 Clay season and at the 2006 Queens Club he used the LM Instinct. But that thirllling Match against Blake he was using the Radical Tour 690 which is 107 sq.in.
