Nice collection, Dino. The Head Graphite Edge I remember (early 80's, U.S.) was black with (I think) gold and red pinstripes. It was matte black at one time and gloss black at another, though I don't recall which was first. Did yours come out later, or did it come out at the same in a different market?

His is the European version, circa 1986 or so.
    Those are all nice racquets.

The condition of your Head racquets are excellent. The grommets appears to be in good shape. My Head edge was black with a few broken grommets. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Dino, i have this one too. Fantastic racquet, feels a little bit heavy in hands, but solid, and great for serve and volley, also on the returns, love the flat forehand with this one.

Thank you, teachingprotx, for your kind words. I appreciate it a lot. Collecting, picture posting, RDC testing and talking about racquets is a labor of love and a joy to me. And as the saying goes, a joy shared is twice the joy. :)

Well, now we just have to organize our playtesting week, right?

    Your assessment is spot on...

BTW, and I hadn't realized this, the specs on the Graphite Pro and my PT57A are almost identical. So much for evolution, right?

Is this 1986 Graphite Edge still a 81.1 head size, just like the 1981 US ones??

Hey, congratulations! I hope you'll both be very happy. :)

But does your wife-to-be know about your preoccupation with tennis racquets? (Silly questions!)

You will be playing tennis on Sunday ???

    Thanks, Virginia!

My fiancée does indeed know about my peculiar interest and is neutral, rather than hostile, about it, which is good enough for me...

Yeah, I was thinking Sunday would be fine, or would Saturday night be better?

    Thanks!

This is a true story: Me and a friend had decided to go to Stockholm for the Sweden - Argentina DC rubber. We were all set but hadn't bought any tickets yet. The same day we were going to get the tickets there was an invitation in my friend's mailbox to my wedding that my soon-to-be wife had sent... So no DC for me.

That's great! Well, your "match" this weekend is one you don't want to be late for or default on! I hope you and your partner will win, love and love!

I myself missed Wimbledon in 1996 because of my wedding day.

I've just found out something very interesting about this racquet!

Even though the head/hoop is 100% graphite.

The shaft is 70% Fibreglass and 30% Graphite!

I didn't know this, and find it very interesting:)

As would explain low flex, but still reasonably powerful, and very playable racquet!

Very interesting, indeed! It's a very nice racquet to play with, that's for sure.

Thanks from the two of us!
