Its a black cap special, so its clever marketing.

i think that the quality control would be a lot higher, if it were produced in a limited edition in Austria. that is based on my experience, that recent prestiges made in china differ in weight and balance and need to be customized to play identical. which is a pain:(

also, on a different note, if you would buy the racquet as a collector´s item, the label ´Made in Austria´would pretty much guarantee that the value of these frames will be going up over the years. that is something i don´t care because i would play with the racquet and not mount it on a wall, but still...

Not sure if you were being serious... used to be in Shanghai, but not in China right now.

I was expecting something more sophiscated, more colorfully and attractive for a limited edition 25th anniversary racket! The graphics on this racket are terrible. Looks cheapo too! Looks like this racket was designed for a Target or Costco store.

Not worth $50! Only a fool would buy it for $200! What was Head thinking???????

so is there anything different about this IG other than the paint job and the black caps?

Yes, like a limited reissue of the PT280/630 or the PC600. I'd probably buy one just to see what the fuss is all about.

In stock Nov 9th & pre-sale is on now: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Head_YOUTEK_IG_Ltd_Edition_Prestige_Mid/descpageRCHEAD-HYLEP.html

celebrating 25 years as one of the most iconic racquet lines ever made, Head offers this limited edition YOUTEK IG Ltd Prestige Midplus. A rewarding player's racquet offering a more forgiving response compared to its midsized brother, this racquet still comes through big on precision. Excellent control from the baseline provides the advanced player all the confidence needed to take an aggressive cut at the ball. With a livelier and plusher response at impact, this is perhaps the silkiest feeling Prestige Midplus yet. Stability and comfort impress while the tight 18x20 string pattern helps connect the player to the ball. Our TW playtesters found both topspin and slice easy to generate. Advanced level players will find the feel maneuverable with the head light balance making it easy to whip the racquet head through contact. At net this racquet feels rock solid. Both control and feel are top notch. There is enough mass to help punch volleys away and provide stability when the player is stretched wide or forced to hit late. A great option for the all court player, this one provides a precise and predictable response on serves, groundstrokes, approach shots and volleys. A very impressive racquet, this one is best suited to 4.5+ level players.

I like the paintjob. I like it a lot. I feel like it could have been a lot more classic though. Wouldn't change my mind, but I feel like some of the more die-hard prestige line fans won't like it. I'd be interested to know if I'm right about that or not.

Isn't it exactly the same as the regular IG Prestige MP? Just has a different PJ? I don't see the point...

Dude it's no different from a 50 year anniversary corvette. People buy it to have the pj and because its a prestige. It's not a big deal.

I bought the Prince 25th Anniversary Graphite with the matte finish and I have to admit it's been sitting in my closet ever since and I never even think about it.

My shop landed these this morning, and oh my god are they gorgeous. I wish I used the Prestige MP, I would be in heaven. The bags are landing this week however, and I do have one on hold! The PJ of the prestige is just gorgeous however, and the caps are super nice!

Oh man...I have a bit of a problem in regards to buying racquets. I'm not really a racquetholic or anything, but it seems like every year or so I buy one or receive one as a gift. Sometimes I even do it with demoing! This is probably going to be my one racquet for this year. I loved my old Microgel Prestiges, and I absolutely love the special edition paintjob.

Only problem is I'm going through one of my phases where I'm not playing tennis.

I'm in Beijing... always looking for someone to hit with.

On topic, the paint job really looks like something I'd like from the pics. Can't wait to see one in person. I am a little tired, though, of the last few generations having the fragile foil lettering/decals without any kind of clear coat protecting them. I have some old Prestiges now that get used regularly and still look great, but anything from Youtek and newer just can't survive that long and still look great. The paint on them is great, but the stupid silver foil falling off just ruins the look. I'm not super anal about how my racket looks, but I do like to keep nice things looking nice and take care of my equipment.

Finally got one! And the best part was that I only paid $140! The best colorway hands down so far.

They would have been better correcting the distribution of mass issue rather than worrying about the paint job.

Torres, where does the racket lack mass?

I also think the paint job looks great. Has anyone hit a ball with the new frame?

Would be great if Head re-issued the PT630 like other manufacturers have with classic frames.

Wow! I really wanted the white Wimbledon bag that Head players had the past year, but this one looks even better. Looks like it might be the same bag but in black and red instead.

Maybe picking up one of these will get me back into tennis again. Been on a bit of a break ever since a bit of a falling out with my old coaches. I was an assistant coach for my old high school, but things just went bad. I kind of stopped playing since then.

Really? It's practically the same as all the other Prestiges... I play with lead here and there anyway to get it where I want it. The world is your oyster...

i picked up a pair this weekend.

    these are really light unstrung.

i measured 309 and 310g on my digital scale, unstrung.

love the black frame though. All the manufacturers went heavy on the color schemes for the last 10 years, so this is refreshing.

    measured the balance just now.

racquet 1- 310g unstrung, 12 and 3/16 inches from the edge of the buttcap/handle. (9.5 points HL)

    racquet 2- 309g unstrung, 12 and 1/16 inches. (10.5 points HL)

according to the specs on the throat, racquet should be 320g unstrung, and about 11 points HL.

Anyone hit with one of these and the regular IG Prestige MP?

I found that my 25th Prestige edition didnt seems as plush as the reg verison. All my rqts are matched and have the same string. The grip also seemed a bit bigger.

That's odd... wonder if anyone else has had these problems.

Really want to get the limited edition midplus but I have never tried a prestige mp only a mid... how would the midplus compare to a Babolat Aero Storm Tour GT?
