Should be one per customer if you ask me.

    You know, to prevent hoarding.

EDIT: Nevermind, there are some anomalies in the bunch.

If I bought one, I wouldn't even use it. I'd freeze it in carbonite and hang it from my wall -- for all to see.

So are they already customized for certain pros or they're in stock form?

Negative, I don't play with my PC600s anymore. And if I want to oogle at one, I still have one brand new in plastic wrap to hang on my wall.

But does that mean I'm not excited about this release? No way, I'm very happy with this release.

Honestly, I wouldn't want to pay more than $100 a frame.

I definitely got swept away in "pro stocky-ness" (see signature).

I love the PJ dimension, but overall, it's not really worth the inflated price. Believe me, I know... I'm still paying down a credit card!

From the image posted on FB, many looked used - a number of the frames have Tourna grips on them.

Technically, a PT630 in a PT630 PJ is a pro stock, but there's no difference!

    PC600 = PT10
    PT630 = PT57a
iPrestige = PT57e and so on...

Despite this, I'm a hypocrite, because I still want more. It's an addicting habit. But, part of the fun is hunting them down all over the world.

Well. I mis-typed. There are differences in flex and so forth, so I wonder if TW will run them through an RDC to give us full specs.

Time to resurrect the "Head Pro Stock Code" thread...

Limit should be 2 frames to allow buyer chance to get a closely matched pair....

I need to stay away this is very bad for moi.

I noticed on the great auction site listings that mention PT 630 and PT 280 are one and the same. Are they the same racquet, if not, what's the difference?

They also list it as a PT57A. Are all three the same racquets?

The 630/280 are different names to fit into marketing that was different between the US and Europe, 630 relates to the cm² headsize. The pt57a is the pro stock version of that same frame that was made for pros lighter so they could customise it.Sometimes it would of been under the pt630 paintjob then as they were replaced in the shops it would be the same frame painted as whatever s new that year.
There is a lot of info on here about them probably far more detailed than what I have just typed though!

IMHO they are not the same I tried both side by side and 280 felt a lot stiffer while 630 were softer

    PT280 MiA?
    Both set up the same?

I have quite a few of PT280 MiA and PT630's and they all feel very soft and similar. However, the 280's had that dampening crap under the pallet that may have altered the feel (I took that out on my 280s)...

Finally, finally I can say I'm not interested..lol. But I still have my Tec 315 ltd, which is just fine for a pro stock style racquet.

I think there were enough variations and changes over the years for the feel to be different between ones painted with the same number but I had some of both sometimes at the same time and didn't feel they were any different.
I thought I had broken something the first time I had that red bit come off!

I know they have a lot of frames to inspect and price, but cryptically announcing this is a little frustrating.

Please just give us a date. And where? Vintage says for Bosworths... used section? Regular Head section?

Also, how is a legitimate retailer allowed to sell "free" frames? The secondary private market deals mostly with sponsored Head players' frames that they no longer use or were given to friends and then resold at large markups. I'm assuming then, that what they're calling "pro stocks" for the most part will be PC600 and PT630 frames, which is great, but not really "pro stock" at all- just the retail versions that subsequent pro stock frames were based upon.

Still, please at least provide an approximate date.

    phishbiscuits,

We are working diligently to get all the racquets up and ready to go for the website. They will be up within 1-2 weeks and be a staggered release. Additionally, they will be posted in the Bosworth section as they are racquets purchased by us from Bosworth International.

They are "pro-stock" racquets as they were all specifically customized (or going to be customized) by Bosworth International for their pro players. They are either extra frames that were used or going to be used by the pros with possible new specs, grip shapes, etc.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Out?,

We haven't determined the prices on some of the racquets. If I had to give a rough and I mean ROUGH range it would be anywhere from fifty to several hundred dollars.

Hm, it would be interesting to hang one or two of these frames on the wall.. In regards to using them.. it would be tedious trying to revert them back to stock form (if possible).

The private market typically provides static weight, balance, length, string pattern, modifications (lead, silicone, grip). Sometimes the swingweight and sometimes the pro that either used them or who they were made for.

I guess I'll keep an eye out for these as I would like to try a PT57A but it would be nice if the other data was available with the frames too. I suspect that these will sell out very, very quickly unless you use an auction format.

Check the other site. There's a huge selloff of 150+ pro stocks. They guy sounds legitimate, but who the hell knows. He's going to make a LOT of money!

One of my PT10s has a hairline crack that developed tonight... First time I hit with it too. Brand new frame, never strung prior. Damn.:(

I love Heads, but even Kennelbach-made PC600s are just not the same quality as other brands. It's too bad because nothing hits like a Prestige Mid Classic in my mind. Yet, I keep buying them, so why would they change anything?

Overdrive: why would you revert a pro stock back to retail specs? Just curious. "Just because" is good enough in my mind! But, I am genuinely curious.

You can find the same flex, with some rare exceptions (e.g., the 18x20 TGK 237.2 in my signature has a different RA, but is not the 16x19 that is usually that engineering code) in that retail frame's correct generation (e.g., a PT57e is technically an iPrestige MP, etc...)

Earlier this thread, they sourced them from Bosworth, so yes, Vintage section in 1-2 weeks for "roughly" 50 to several hundred dollars :)

Yeah, I saw that post. Talk about a candy store. I think that I have all of the racquets that I NEED for the next 10 years. But it's nice to dabble. I just wish that the market were as convenient in the US as it is in Europe. I do not like shipping stuff from Europe.

I just received a box that sat in the US customs for a month. I already thought the same destiny as the box you never received a few years back...

Now that you're in the US, I was hoping for a better domestic pipeline but I guess that your pipeline was due to being there.

The other thing is that I'd rather pay with a check instead of using PayPal and that would be easier with an all-US deal. PayPal has this artificial limit on credit cards before they want to attach themselves to your checking account and I'm not attaching anything to my checking account.

I've noticed that the volume of new pro stocks on the market has declined. I don't know if this is due to more economic problems around the world with incomes being depressed or if Head is clamping down harder on aftermarket sales or they're being sold before they get to the other site to customers in Asia.

I have sometimes wondered if the passage through customs is better handled through the commercial shipping companies compared to the state post offices.

I have 11 pro stocks out of 12 purchased so a loss rate of about 9%. I suppose I could accept that if the items were replaceable but that's often not the case with Pro Stocks.

I had the same unease as you, so what I did was open a 2nd checking account at my bank, then attached it to my PayPal account. There's never more than $20 in there at any time, and just before I purchase something with it, I transfer the correct amount from my actual checking account.
