these things are hard to price since they are one offs. the market will take care of the pricing. too high and the racquets will sit. but they only need one buyer so anything is possible.

They are doing the sales piece meal, one at a time, to discourage dealers/hoarders/flippers from swooping in and buying them all, marking them up 100%+, etc.

The prices are pretty much full blown retail so not much point in flippers buying them.

It seems as though they almost did their homework in regards to prostock sales, which is surprising. They are dead on, or just a touch higher than what these frames would be going for new.

And I bet his wife (if he has one) never sees the cc statement with the $900 TW charge on it.

Why can't TW just leave the rackets on the page and not take them off once its sold. I want to at least see some pictures of the racket before it's sold.

You could just save the image to your local hard drive when they are there.

I didnt even get to see it once. Im sure this happens to other users. If it was for MichaelChang graciously updating what's been released, I wouldn't even know what has been out.

Good point, that would be cool if they left the pics and specs/summary up. Just say "Sold Out" or something.

    Come on tw!

When I much cheaper car well do I see no reason to spend 50k on a car. Mind you though I do not make 50K a year...so that might have something to do with it. :D

I think that $900 is a fair price after reading the description above. The implication is that Hewitt used it quite a bit. The specs are remarkable - getting a racquet with that swingweight, balance and static weight is pretty hard to do outside of a pro-stock. That frame is very close to my specs in terms of length and swingweight but the static weight on mine are much higher.

    I agree.
However, I am still puzzled how it got there.
365g static, 8PT HL, only .6" extended with the SW of 385!
    That is, indeed, remarkable

What's even more remarkable is that Hewitt used those frames cut shorter than 27"- either that racquet was used as part of a test for length, or it's a misprint. To the best of my recollection, the unstrung length should be 26.75"

As I mentioned before, I'm not a Hewitt fan. I'd easily pay that for a Federer frame though. Probably many times that amount.

    Lefty78,

The length that was listed was correct at 27.6". It was likely being playtested or held in reserve for a playtest.

    Brittany,

Fair enough. That was the first of the two possibilities I mentioned in my previous post. In fact, Jay and I have spoken at length numerous times regarding Rusty's (considerable and thorough) testing for length, and how and why he ended up where he did. Given the price tag though... as long as the buyer is happy.

Well, I no longer have to wait for something nice to be released :) finally picked up a couple of PT280s yesterday. Got a thread about it in the Classic Racquets section. It's pretty sweet! Looking forward to hitting a lot with it over the next couple of weeks.

Funny, they have a Head Arthur Ashe Competition for $70. I've bought around 4 of them in better condition for about $2 each at charity shops.

Just don't leave it directly in the sun in your car on a hot day.

I did this and it partially melted and the aluminum came apart from the fiberglass (or whatever the sandwich material was back then).
