Head Radical Balls

just seen these balls on sale in my local sports shop, £10/$16 for 12 balls.
do they last well? are they worth the money or should I go for something else?
I have already used the head championship balls with extra duty felt and the prince championship extra duty balls.
both seem to have lasted much longer than I thought they would, I opened the head championship balls first, apart from the felt being not so fluffy anymore, they still bounce like new balls, it's pretty much the same story with the prince balls.

any other good/bad balls to go for or avoid?

Horrible tennis balls IMO but they do last. They are very hard and bouncy so no good for a hard court or a court that is high bouncing. We use them at our club because like you say, they are cheap but not a nice ball to play with. I'm a fan of Dunlop fort tennis balls and although they aren't very durable on our courts, they are a nice ball to hit with. Hope that helps.

thanks for the feedback Jonny.
if they hadn't been on offer as they were I would have selected another ball, the Wilson balls maybe.
are all head balls this bad?

I have used the head ATP balls and I actually like them. They feel a lot nicer than the radicals and are a bit more fluffy. The radicals seem very bare and just fly of the strings. Try them for yourself, they're just not for me.

I nearly went for the ATP balls, but in the shop I went to they were £4.99 for 4, the radical balls were £9.99 for 12.
typical Brit, I can't resist a bargain.

thanks again jonny :)

Here I am again! LOL
Head balls are marketed here as Penn. Or, maybe, the other way around.
Hard to compare

I opened a tube of my head balls today and they seem pretty good.
I'm convinced that there isn't much difference between balls.

I think each brand got several level of ball

1.Pressure-less balls like trainers

2.Tournament level balls

3. Championship level balls

4. and finally grand slam level balls.

I am not very familiar with the 2 and 3 but definitely they are harder than the elite level ones. They are pressurized and hard, don't feel as good as elite ones. But also they last longer than the elite ones.

I think the best pressurized balls are

1. Slazenger Wimbledon (purple)
2. HEAD ATP, US OPEN, AUSTRALIA OPEN, DUNLOP FORT

Your radical is presurized but I don't know whether is should be grouped with 2 or 3. But that price is a robbery for pressurized balls I think.

robbery?
£10 for 12 balls that should cost £15 or more?
that seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Oh, my bad.....
I thought it was '£10 for 12 cans'. Did you mean you spend £10 for 4 cans pressurized balls?

Here in my place, I use purple can Slazenger wimbledon. It cost $5 per can. I will play for around 4 to 6 hours.

sorry.
it was £10 for 3 cans of 4 balls, so 12 balls in total.
