Okay, I know the GOAT threads get annoying, but hear me out (this idea originally came from PimpMyGame, from another thread about Borg's wood comeback):

Wayne Ferreira is the greatest tennis player that ever lived.

    Wait, don't go! Listen!

Over his career, Wild Wayne defeated the three players most commonly marked as "GOAT":

    Bjorn Borg
    Pete Sampras
    Roger Federer

Granted, this is a stretch, but I'm totally (not) serious. C'mon, whaddaya say?

When did he beat Borg? Was it on the seniors tour? Or maybe during the Borg comeback of the early 90's?
Would look good on his CV to have beaten those 3. Maybe he should give Rod Laver a call....

This is a new twist, but the same end result.

How many Grand Slams or Masters did Wayne win again?

    I thought so....

My question too: when did he beat Borg?

Heck, if I wait long enough maybe I'll be able to beat Don Budge . . . eventually.

Back in 1992, when Borg made a mini-comback on clay in Monaco.

While we are at it, what about Andrei Medvedev?

    He has beaten:

    Borg, Sampras, Agassi, and Federer.

Would he be the 2nd best or the best player ever?

    Haha, good question, MEAC.

The fact that Ferreira had beaten Borg (during the comeback), Sampras, and Federer caught my eye in another thread and I just thought it was interesting.

I hadn't even HEARD of Medvedev, though...

Maybe you can't be the GOAT if you're famous?

    How about Fabrice Santoro eh.

    3-4 vs. Sampras

    3-3 vs. Agassi

    1-1 vs. Becker

    1-0 vs. Connors

he never played Borg but those are some impressive head to head stats.

I don't think Federer was in his prime when Ferreira beat him. Plus, did Ferreira consistently beat Borg and Sampras? and yeah, like said earlier. no slams

That's good, because Ferreira never beat Laver. And neither did
    Medvedev.
