I would *love* to see them!! :)

(I was just fussing because I finally had a night to myself to watch the tennis, was looking forward to Nalbandian-Isner, and couldn't get a decent stream for love or money.)

Also, I have a friend who is a huge fan of both Ferrer and Nalbandian. I know she would appreciate them too.

    Thank you!

I'm going to the semifinals tomorrow :D!

Nalby vs Almagro should be fantastic.
I've never heard of Giraldo before, though! According to wikipedia he's a ball basher so I hope he can hit through Ferrer to make it a fun match!

Santiago is from Colombia. Like the young, early Rafa, he has been better on clay so far -- his record has been streaky on hard -- but I've been waiting for awhile for him to make a little splash.

I'm a Ferru fan also, so I'm not sure I'd like another upset, but I'm sure it will be a good match (if SG has anything left after upsetting both Montanes and Bellucci).

If you have a camera, we would love pictures!

Enjoy yourself! Have a great time! :)

Good to see Nalbandian doing well. Hope he's got a decent draw at the AO and makes a run (4th round/QF)

Lol I always have low expectations of Nalbandian; but I've noticed that in his recent comeback he's beating the players he's supposed to beat but losing to the higher ranked players. I think he's only lost to Murray, Djokovic, Nadal and Verdasco since August '10. So that's not so bad. And I think Djokovic is kind of a bad match up for him. But he can beat Murray and Nadal if the stars align.

Boy do the stars need to align...and I think the moon needs to be completely dark...and the sun needs to be eclipsed by the moon.

This is looking to be one of the greatest semifinals in tennis history, good to see two of the best of this generation in Nalbandian and Almaestro fighting it out for the most prestigious pre-Aussie Open title and hopefully lead to form that will see either capture their first slam, the other likely following suit by winning Roland Garros this year. Already shut off all communication within a 5 mile radius to where I live so that there's no possible way I could miss it.

    so who's gonna win?
    nico with his power?
    or
    nalby with his cunning?

    -----

nico lookin good, but I think nalby's gonna raise his level and make it to the final (even if it does kinda seem like Nico's year in Auckland) ;)

yes, he did reveal a few chinks in the armor yesterday against mannarino :) ... plus nalby disposed of isner rather handily (tho big john had to have treatment to his serving arm)

    Nalbandian into the Final! :)
Will his opponent be Giraldo of Colombia or Ferrer of Spain?
    I'm guessing Ferrer! ;)

    Thank you, Rhino!

My friend thanks you too, lol! :)

Did you enjoy yourself @ semis? I seem to recall seeing three or four others who'd be interested in seeing -- did you get any shots from there?

(And what gear are you using, if I may ask? Your shots are incredibly clear!)

Post em if ya got em, Rhino! :)

And could you tell us some of your impressions of the semifinals today? I'm particularly interested in your impressions of Nalbandian both today against almagro and yesterday against Isner. Also, did Isner impress you at all? :)

Well, you know, "regular camera" means lots of different things. Canon? Nikon? DSLR, or point and shoot?

Inquiring minds want to know b/c your shots are nice, lol! :)

And I'm with LG - would also love to know what you thought of the actual play; how the Davids look compared to one another, etc.

My feeling is that Nalbandian is playing amazing. He is striking the ball very hard and seems in good shape. Should beat Hewitt at the AO too.

One thing I noticed that you don't see on TV was how little space there is between the ball and the net as it goes over. With Nalbandian it is so low over the net but a lot of the other guys it is much higher.

Also Tobias Kamke. This guy is really really good. I was so impressed, I expect him to be top 20 by the end of the year. However he and his coach manage to chat a lot during matches without the umpire hearing them (I was sat near his coach), I couldn't believe it how they were getting away with it! It was constant on-court coaching.

This s/b an exciting final. I'm guessing that, more than anything else, Ferrer wants revenge for that DC Final at Mar del Plata!

Both guys seem healthy and fit, and there seems to be a large spanish-speaking contingent of spectators. Spain is also contending for the doubles championship as we speak:

J Brunstrom(SWE)/S Hus (AUS) vs [2]M Granollers(ESP)/T Robredo(ESP) ... on serve in the first atm 1 game all:)

Ferrer alot more comfortable with the outdoor plexi-cushion surface, compared to his outing in the WTF.. Looking very solid in the extended rallies.

Nalby lost his serve in the first set through an uncharacteristic backhand unforced error. He just fell apart after that.

Hopefully, Rhino can give us some more details, if he was courtside. Meanwhile, here's the stats ... I know Ferr wanted revenge, and he sure got it ... still, Nalby hadn't lost a set all week, Ferr had! Maybe it had to do with fitness? b/c even tho Nalb looks fitter than he did several months ago, still Ferrer is in the shape of a boxer. He almost looked cool out there in the heat, compared to Nalby ... but I didn't see the entire match ...
