Help me on quest to get the best tennis video camera?

Discussion in 'Tennis Tips/Instruction' started by DefensiveTennis, Dec 31, 2013.

  1. Something simple and clear like what maximaqq has is what I am looking for but as cheap as possible while still getting good clear quality.

I want it for recording some set play from the clubhouse window about 10 metres behind the tennis court. I want to be able to see almost all the court in the camera.

I dont want to waste money on anything picture related. All I need is a focus on video.

If I can record myself on the court in slow motion that is a bonus.
I want to be able to record for around 1 hour non stop maybe more.

I want the best quality video recording footage for the lowest price. Less than 100 dollars is one price bracket. 150 dollars is the second bracket.

    Suggestions please?

This is the Vado HD gen 1 http://youtu.be/QBFArNn1-qA

If you were doing anything other than tennis, I wouldn't recommend it as the audio is horrid. It has a wider angle than most pocket cams and holds 8 gb which is plenty enough for a whole match in hd.

Here is a raw file, be sure to view at 720p

Do you have a decent smartphone? All the videos I've shot are using an iphone and they turned out pretty well

If not, look up Chas Tennis's Black Friday camera thread. There's a Cannon camera for $100 on there and it shoots high speed video (if you're into that)

  4. I have decided that the quality for less than 100 is no better than smart phones so I am now not bothered. Thanks anyway for the posts you 2.
