I have been trying in vein to become a locker room attendant at the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open. I tried volunteering but was told the locker room attendants are hired form an outside source. They ARE NOT volunteers. Does anyone know what to do?????????????

Write to Justin Gimbelstob at SI. Ask him...he seems to know everything ....wrote an article about locker rooms for example.

Haha, the second thread within a week about this subject.
I can well understand tournament organizations NOT wanting to have volunteers serve as locker room attendants. Too much risk of getting overzealous fans/stalkers/groupies in stead of dedicated workers to do the job.

    Justin doesnt work at SI.

Why are you so desperate to be a locker room attendant at an ATP event? Are you anxious to personally confirm the rumors about Lleyton Hewitt? Just go to the tournament website and sign up to be a volunteer for player services or court services and learn how the tournament is run, then maybe you can be the locker room attendant in 2011.

No I dont want to get the job because of the rumor. Although, I can see a lot of other people wanting it for that. Anyway, anybody have any ideas. If not I guess I will just have too wait till I am in the draw.

I already gave you an idea. Besides, you are at the Bolletieri academy, in Florida. Why can't you ask around there (including the pros that train there) and ask the well connected people there this question. Surely someone at IMG can help you get this job that you want so badly.

I did understand your post, but I've noticed before that you have quote malfunctions sometimes. I think it's because you remove the irrelevant parts of the post you are quoting and forget to leave the end quote function in. No worries, it was just an off hand observation (and I have a fever right now so I may not be fully coherent anyway). :)

I do remove the parts of the post that are not relevant to the point I was trying to make so if I want to make a my point/post information, shorter is better.

If I were making some great philisophical comment I agree
that removing parts of someone's post that contradict my opinion for example is manipulation of the written word to support my opinion and that is wrong.

The sentence that I highliighted about Gimbelstop/lockers was simply information.

What purpose would it have served to have included the rest of your post?

    People have already read it.
